DaveK
Despite repeated searches, I can't find much info on what alarm companies are worth using, and what alarm systems are worth having. About the only info I have managed to find is that ADT suck. I realise that most people who have alarms don't actually know they're any good unless somebody has tried to break in. However, I figure that statistically some of the people on here must be thieving gits so I'm hoping they can tell me which alarm systems usually get the better of them. Also, if you do have an alarm system and get constant false alarms that's worth knowing. Cheap B&Q DIY stuff is of no interest to me.

Chris Wilson
I have always been told that a hard wired, rather than wireless system is more reliable. I think, like car alarms, 90% of the reliability is in the execution of its installation, rather than the unit itself. Scotchlocks and insulting tape create their own problems

Personally the larger the company, the less the installer cares, on the whole, as it won't be them being called out in the early hours of the morning due to poor workmanship I never get any problems with my installs. Chris Wilson
Hmmm, I may have a few questions for you Kev Need to put a panel in with a lot more zones, maybe a 15 / 18 or more zone panel, but would like maybe 8 or so of the zones on wireless, the existing hard wired ones staying as they are, with maybe 3 or so additions. Can you get a hybrid panel? Cheers.

Kev.O
As with most of the products ADT use, they've bought this company, but I can highly recommend Galaxy Panels: Linky
