Small toy for fun drive :)

My neighbour (distinguish lady in her 60's) came to me 2 days ago and asked if I want to buy her old car as she got 02 MG convertible from her son. I went, had a look, heard a price, laughed and bought it :D

So here's my toy to drive around when Supra is being nursed in garage - 1995 Mazda MX-5 California edition (apparently only 300 was made for UK market ), 70k miles on the clock, 1.8 petrol, convertible, very clean and without signs of any abuse at all. Only problems I found was engine cover gasket was gone and patched with silicone (bloody cowboys) - changed today and one of the gearbox seals is misting slightly. Other than that car is in vg condition :)

This goes very nice sideways as I had occasion to find out when testing :p Position of handbrake and gear changes are perfect, car is reacting very well and holds on the road strong.

Now you guys intrigued me with turbo option, will go and google about it :D

i borrowed the earlier model once while my car was in the shop. Was a bit small for my 6'3 frame and size 14 shoes. Chair didnt go far enough back. there wasnt enough space in the footwell and the wheel and geerstick were a bit close. If i was shorter im sure it would have been more fun lol

Ask Garfy about that as he's got the turbo version. :)

I dont know how accurate it is but i was told you can stick the BMW Mini Supercharger on those engines to which can take the car between 200-250bhp.

You can pick the superchargers up on Ebay secondhand for as little as £50.

God, are they still selling those? That lorry was knocked off a good few years ago now.
