Konrad
My neighbour (distinguish lady in her 60's) came to me 2 days ago and asked if I want to buy her old car as she got 02 MG convertible from her son. I went, had a look, heard a price, laughed and bought it So here's my toy to drive around when Supra is being nursed in garage - 1995 Mazda MX-5 California edition (apparently only 300 was made for UK market ), 70k miles on the clock, 1.8 petrol, convertible, very clean and without signs of any abuse at all. Only problems I found was engine cover gasket was gone and patched with silicone (bloody cowboys) - changed today and one of the gearbox seals is misting slightly. Other than that car is in vg condition Some pics

Axle
Bit of a girls car, but you obviously got it for a steal?
Guigsy
nice little runabout. I hear they go sideways quite nicely being so nimble and light and RWD
SteveR
Cool. Stick a hard top and a turbo on it (relatively easy) and go track-day-ing.
Thorin
Looks a nice example. Cool. Stick a hard top and a turbo on it (relatively easy) and go track-day-ing.
Konrad
This goes very nice sideways as I had occasion to find out when testing Position of handbrake and gear changes are perfect, car is reacting very well and holds on the road strong. Now you guys intrigued me with turbo option, will go and google about it

Guigsy
i borrowed the earlier model once while my car was in the shop. Was a bit small for my 6'3 frame and size 14 shoes. Chair didnt go far enough back. there wasnt enough space in the footwell and the wheel and geerstick were a bit close. If i was shorter im sure it would have been more fun lol
SteveR
Now you guys intrigued me with turbo option, will go and google about it A guy at work did it to his, at first he installed the turbo in the boot (for a laugh) but as that started to melt things he moved it toa more sensible place. Class One
Speak to Muffleman, his company has started doing MX5 mods.
Mike
My brother in law just got one of these.... great fun..! He scared the sh*t out of me in it over Christmas in it... cornering at 40mph never felt so terrifying!? Needless to say I won't be mentioning the Turbo mod to him
Class One
My wife won't let me modify "her" MX5, Shame, as it's such a hoot to drive it just lacks some proper oomph. I'd like to supercharge it rather than turbo it but she just won't budge.
SteveR
Hiya Doug! I know how to make you appear now, mention "MX5".
Carl
I dont know how accurate it is but i was told you can stick the BMW Mini Supercharger on those engines to which can take the car between 200-250bhp. You can pick the superchargers up on Ebay secondhand for as little as £50.

Konrad
Supercharger sounds even better than turbo Anyway for those dying from curiosity I did pay 800 pounds for this car
Jake
Wow. That's a bargain. Only 70k too, that's nothing for one of these. Loads of MX5s about with >150k miles.
