Kev.O
Can anyone make me a supra logo that will fit in the 'Traction Control' location on the Throttle Body? The dimensions are 52mm long by 20mm high and 2mm thick. Edited January 11, 2009 by Kev.O 52mm not 56mm. (see edit history)

Kev.O
Great idea I was wondering whether anyone else would want one. Could be quite a bit of business which might lower the price, as I realise the machine would need to be set up and the program written. jacko
i can give it a go, will check what material we have in tomorrow. What do you want it made from? Ali? Stainless? I will have to set up the logo and run it thru the programme to see if the cutter is fine enough, you may be better off getting them lasered Edited January 11, 2009 by jacko (see edit history)

TLicense
The problem is you'll not be able to keep the aspect ratio correct, and if you did isn't it going to be tiny as it will only be 20mm high at best?
steady_dave
Talk to M4RK RZ, he made quite a lot of Stainless Bezzles for Supra's, might still have some in!
colsoop
I made a couple out of ally a few years back then had them welded in to place and i smoothed over the welds. I will see if i can find a picture.
keener
I agree that laser machining might be a better option for you. Try http://www.laser-engraving-limited.com/index.html. They did some laser engraving of text into a piece of Oak for me and they did an awesome job at a very good price. I was amazed by the level of detail they could do. They do laser cutting of all sorts of things too. They had some metal pieces around the showroom but I didn't look closely at them as it wasn't relevant to what I wanted. I did see some photographs they engraved onto acetate though which looked v. good and I've got loads of ideas of things to do now!

jacko
yep it's definately going to need to be lasered, far too small to do on our router
j80leo
Stainless Steel would be better than alloy
steb9780
It can be engraved on a CNC, I have erm "ACQUIRED" some carbide engraving cutters that we got for an open day a work. They will not last very long in steel, but they are good in aluminium alloys etc. I could have a do if somebody can get good measurements of the sizes etc. And also a good picture would be a great help. jacko
I could also engrave it into a plate, but cannot cut it out, let me know
Guigsy
if anyone wants a large image of the supra logo i have one on the other Pc. IIRC its black and white and is about 1200 odd pixels accross and a good quality i think. So should look better when scaled than a crappy smaler one. Its not a vector though if that matters. I have the logo somewhere, I was trying to get a ready written program written in Heidenhain about a year ago. But I had no joy. I hand write all my programs at work, so for such a little logo, theres a fair bit of working out. Does anybody have a logo written in Heidenhain? The size doesn't matter of the logo as the scaling cycle can be used to adjust size as necessary.
Guest barkdog23
my dad is a cnc tool maker, ill give the dimensions to him and the lettering style and see what he comes up with. i can test it on my supra first. if the results are good ill take some pics. and see what it would cost to do a run of them.
