supra10000
If the car hit 600hp then hats off to you,a lot of people would owe you an apology. But its extremely doubtful! If it hits 600+ BHP i be landed and will keep the car as it hard to believe the interest in it if it is 600+ BHP on twins. But i wouldnt want an apology as i can see why people are against me. tooquicktostop
If it doesnt make the figures you guys be the first to know and i will put my hand up and say i shoulda listened to you guys. But as i said he is very confident. We will see it will not make 600, just to give you a head start on managing your disappointment

Just seen this I'd defo be up for it, but my car is off the road for the winter i'm afraid My rolling road result bet would be 385bhp
Firestorm
interpro should be fine. they're pretty good guys down there. oh and just for the record your gonna have to actually post a picture of it, not some phony one or just say "well ive been and ive come back im right". and seriously whats with all this racing other cars with power nonsense, thats hardly hard evidence. benkei
Are you getting it mapped to the 650bhp for the RR? And does it really count if you have to have it remapped? Can't have a spontaneous race and tell them to hang on while to go to the garage to get it mapped for racing. Surely the power for your car should be what you are safely running on a daily basis, not what you can tune it to for one offs. Did you say it was running 400bhp at the moment and 1.2bar? j80leo
My figure would be around 430bhp for the bet;)
DAT Inter
Does that look like a 650bhp car? What a load. LMAO at this thread. He aint going to see 500 unless its done at http://www.bumdyno.com. Twadle twadle twadle. Oh even if there is a rolling road sheet its very easy to doctor them. Would take me all about 5 mins with a decent scan a photoshop, so even if i see a dyno sheet here from "this" car then i wont believe it. Let us know when its being RR'ed and im sureoe or two of the members can meet you there.

My add states that the car is running around 500 BHP but if you wanted to it can be taken up to around 650 BHP as guaranteed by the company who did the upgrade....So yes it will be just for the rolling road i never said it was capable of running at 650 BHP indefinatly which im sure it would be able to but fuel would be a nightmare its hardly cheap now... so yes it counts Edited January 12, 2009 by supra10000 (see edit history)
ellis
i havent seen any posts from CW, PW or anyone like that yet... Interesting... Probably still rolling around on the floor that's why! From reading the ad and all of the posts it would seem that Supra10000 has been 'told' or 'advised' that these modifications have the potential to increase power to between 400 - 650BHP not that they actually do (unless the eBay ad has been amended since). I think its fair to say that at some point in our Supra ownership (when we were young, naive but just as handsome as today!) that we've been to tuners, specialists and the like and been 'told' that we'd be looking at huge power gains for the mods we're doing or the potential of them. And we believe them because we trust what they say because their knowledge (usually) is greater than ours on such subjects. I've been there and I'm sure others have too. It's hard not to believe what we're told when we're shelling out serious piles of our hard earned to create our own ultimate road chewer but that sad fact is, people lie to us to get our money!! Yes folks, they really do! So perhaps the figures given to Supra10000 were 'optimistic guesstimates' based on a hunch by the tuner - maybe. On another route - what other cars have you owned Supra10000? Fast is only relative to your driving expriences in other cars. I went from a Supra to a 3 litre Beemer for a few weeks (!!) and for a car that's supposed to be fast, it felt slow! For someone going from a Fiesta to the same car it would probably feel fast - it's just relative. I admire your dogged determination to prove something here and I hope you haven't spent a shed load of money on hollow promises and guesses but at least you're willing to put your money, time and reputation on the line, good on you for that. Based on my limited knowledge of all things oily on the Supra I can pretty much state you won't get 650 on twins, hybrids or not. But here's hoping you get a figure you're happy with. If you can't get to Interpro (who did my engine rebuild so I know they're good lads!) try Weston Perfomance (http://www.westonperformance.com/) who do have a great dyno set up and won't mislead you in any way. Interesting thread though!! Edited January 12, 2009 by ellis (see edit history)
dangerous brain
Surely using the laws of physics its not possible to flow sufficient air through Hybrids regardless of the straightest manifolds and pipework in the world to make 650 BHP. I mean thats a hell of a lot air to move from one place to another.
Homer
The interpro dyno isn't going to prove too much, it's very well known for being a bit 'eager' with the figures. I think they were the ones that had something like a 40% correction for drag loss once Ideally Surrey rolling road as their dyno results are always reliable and realistic, but thats a bit far to go just to prove a point! supra10000
They told me they had 3 diffrent RR's and they randomly test the same car on all 3 RR's to see the diffrence if any
jevansio
We can use the RWHP figure and apply an accepted loss
Lbm
But what if it is 650 Shetland ponies? Man- are we going to look silly!
