Flip
Perhaps a long shot this, but I have an odd question... I'm building a little project vehicle which requires an SVA, but I'm looking for a decent place to test it first, so a bit of test track, airfield, deserted open "private" car park - something that isn't covered in cameras, is out of the way of prying eys and won't get me in bother with the bobbies. Preferably somewhere not too far from home either, near Bracknell or Reading? Does anyone have any ideas? In Ryan's strip-down thread he talks about Brunters, but apparently that is full of cars now, all the car parks I know of are full of lumps, cameras, security guards, or all of the above! Does anyone in the south have a REALLY big concrete yard that they own that I could borrow for a morning sometime perhaps?

JustGav
Also, don't forget TRL is in Bracknell, not sure they would let you on the test tracks though.

Flip
I thought about Blackbushe, that is just down the road, but its getting on there that is the trouble now, perhaps if I can find the right someone to ask... Interested in your runway Mr Lover, can you tell me more? I like the idea of google earth too, problem is not many people this close to London are "helpful" like that... Drive in slowly, drive past the go-kart track and round the back of that there is a section of un-used runway.... Timing is limited to about 20 mins (depending on how quick they notice )

Flip
I think I know where you mean actually, though I'd have to trailer the vehicle in, which may arise suspicions! Found this too http://www.gethampshire.co.uk/news/s/2027301_men_lucky_to_escape_ferrari_crash So they may not take too kindly if they do find me... Flip
Has anyone heard of this place - Farnborough Test Track (also known as Eelmoor Test Track) :- http://www.cskate.co.uk/content/view/34/84/ The page was from 2005, but I've found other links from 2008 from skaters using it - don't know what they'd think to a trike on there though Might have to go take a look... Hullavington Airfield J17 M4, you can just drive in there, it is MOD property, never had a problem though. We have used it lots kids on motox bikes and quads riding around, me and V8 cobra playing on the runway, we just don't stay there too long. They do use the airfield for gliding at the weekends and during the week the army are around up there but as we are local we just turn up if people are around we just leave. Kranz
Unless its gated then it is public access (especially if there is an implied permission due to the gliding club). You will have to have insurance if you don't want to be pulled by the fuzz (its quite painful!). Maybe best to speak to someone first? We have never taken the pi55 when up there and never had anyone approach us in the last 6 years.
