Pete
I'd expect every security system has been broken at some point.
jamesmark
It does not matter what alarm you have on your car, if a thief wants it they are going to get it. End of story.
marbleapple
Its a common method of theft to simply lift (mechanically)the car onto a lorry and drive off with the car.... Don't need to touch the alarm. The car is then left for a few days to see if there is a tracker on it. If the car isn't recovered within a few days the thieves move it on. ClaireRZ-S
Yeah that can happen. As in regards to driving it away i think the black jack feature in the clifford alarm is great they won't get far Posted via Mobile Device

Homer
As has been mentioned any alarm can be bypassed if you know what you're doing. A competent thief will be able to get by any alarm given enough time. Even a pleb like me managed to start and drive in 5 minutes, that was with a Clifford 350. Clifford is like BMW you are paying for the name. Sure there are some crap CAT1 systems out there but if all your insurance company is after is a CAT1 certificate then they will not care if it is a £250 Laserline or a £900 Clifford after all a thief won't neither. jamesmark
When I bought an CAT1 Clifford and they offered a full refund if your car was ever stolen, don't know if they do that now though as this was about 3 years ago.
Benjy
I got that offer, should hope they'll give my money back after spending a bloody grand on it! The "Omni-sensor" (according to the ex-car theif that fitted my clifford) is the best addition to the Clifford alarm. If the car senses even the shock of a wheel nut being loosened, it goes off. It's also better than tilt and motion sensors, as any movement of the car will set the alarm off. Admittedly, a shit hot car theif could probably by-pass it, but the likely hood is 1 in a million! Scott
Best thing against driving away i reckon is blackjax. Of course there will be a way around this, if you can install an alarm you can dismantle one, but i'm guessing it wouldn't be easy. Tilt motion sensor to prevent the car being lifted, i guess the Omni-Sensor is just a more sensetive version of this. The main problem is people don't use the features of their alarm to their potential. Less people use the blackjax feature than use it, for example. In my mind thats crazy. I would remove every other element of my alarm system before that.
