leon
appart from an engine gearbox ecu ancillaries what would be required to convert an NA to a TT tiptronic? do you need a new prop, diff e.t.c?
Supranature
I am no expert on your quandry, but logic must be applied. Your car "as is " is worth what? Add the cost of TT lump and ancilliaries, plus all the other gubbins needed to convert to Tiptronic. Do you need a new prop and diff with this set-up, probably likely (awaits confirmation) Then, factor in potential labour costs, even if you are doing the work yourself, then imagine the scenario that would ensue when you eventually get it road-worthy, and need to inform your insurance company thatyou have changed your car, barring the shell, carpets and seats? Imagine the scenario when you may need to sell the resultant project due to an unforeseen personal circumstances...............May be worth a third of what its cost you, not to mention the blood, sweat and tears.Forget it, sell your current motor, and buy what you ultimately desire, and save yourself some money, etc, etc. Sorry to piss on your chips, but I am sure the majority on this forum will agree with me:)

Guigsy
I think i remember reading somewhere you need the VVTI engine if you want triptronic as i believe the geerbox and engine is all controlled in the same ECU? And thats a whole lot of wireing as the looms are completwly different i think and cant just be modified like the not vvti's. Even if its not the triptronic box is nothing to write home about anyway apparently. More usefull in the pub when your talking cars. If someone came to me at a supra meet and said "ive done a triptronic conversion" They wouldnt get "oh thats amazing/interesting" They would get a funny look, a long pause and a "...but why". I would stick with the auto and the manu mode. Although i dont rate that much also. I can count on one hand the number of times ive used it. miko_supra
Seems like a allot of effort for not allot of gain. I would just stick with a normal TT setup
