Havard
i know about 5 people to have ice related accidents in the last 2 days! 3 of them new to rwd cars and just seems to be worse this year already. R.I.P to him and thoughts to his family and friends I had a very lucky escape in my Audi on Monday morning. I was running late for a meeting in Wakefield and was rushing a bit. It was extreely cold and the road had not been gritted. My estate joins the main road on a steep incline and as I came down it a little too quick I braked and even though I had ABS the car locked up completely on the ice and skidded out onto the main road.... How nothing hit me I'll never know as I usually can't get out at the junction as cars are constantly coming past..!! Take it easy out there everyone!! H. steady_dave
Does anyone know if it was an MKIV or if he was on this forum? Like the idea of sending flowers, even if he wasn't a member! Very thoughtful!

firepool
Very, very sad. I think it would be a great idea to make a donation of some kind to his family. Perhaps if someone who lives nearby could find out who he was and maybe a moderator set up a donation account, I think, as some of you have already said, that would be a nice gesture from the Club.
