Ian W
Wow, can't remember ever saying to a lady that i thought her hair looked an indifferent red, how chat up lines must change through the ages. I'm torn between laughing at the fact that you thought it was a chat up line or asking if you've ever said that to a man? What d'ya know...I did both. ozz
Not in the slightest. Regardless of what the car is or how it performs its been tarnised by the wrong brush for me, you can hang around in tescos car park if you so wish, which is where you'd find them now. Wow, you must hang out in some celubrious carparks cos I shop at tesco and have never seen a cossie! I doubt the type of person who could appreciate a genuine cosworth would hang out in carparks trying to impress kids not even as old as his car. Chav replicas certainly but not genuine models. Scott
One of the all time greatest cult cars imo, never had the luck to own one but have had lots of sierra cosworths before i got into the jap stuff including a RS500. Jeremy Clarkson had one and loved it. Exactly, I seriously cannot believe what i am reading on a car enthusiasts forum. Its as if "petrol head" has suddenly became "i once smelled some petrol now i just drive my car and hope i don't hurt my tinternet fingers". Escort Cosworth is one of THE petrol head cars to own. Calling a £15k 1992 ESCORT a chav mobile is just absolutely ridiculous. Yes... its a ford, yes... its an escort but it demands that price tag for a reason. The Supra is FAR more chav than a stock cosworth IMO. Of course there are a few bad eggs, as there are with any car but come on, ANY petrol head worth his salt has had an alfa and at least pine's for an escort cosworth. I would absolutely love to own one, the price tag for such a risk (due to age/reliability etc) is just too much for me. Hassle free supra or hassle free cosworth, i'd take the cosworth every time. tooquicktostop
The Escort cossie was never chav, its too expensive to be such a car, the rest of the escort range perhaps, BUT.... I would have a MKI Escort Mexico or RS500 Sierra at the drop of a hat These cars are true classics and I think the Escort Cossie will become one also in time and its resale value goes up not down from what I have seen, how may Supra do that Looking at the Supras I see on here at times I would like to see what the cosworth owners club would have to say about this thread

My goodness, you are serious. You are deluded my friend. You are more likely to find a bright orange Supra in your local chav hot spot than a stock Escort Cossie

A few years back i was looking at a mint stock example for 11k, now a mint stock example will be 14k (and thats looking HARD). At the time i saw one in a showroom with 23 miles (not K miles) on the clock. The asking price was £23k. I'm almost positive the car cost £21k new. My goodness, you are serious. You are deluded my friend. You are more likely to find a bright orange Supra in your local chav hot spot than a stock Escort Cossie Lets be honest with our statistics here, you are more likely to see 10 bright orange (red, purple whatever) supra's than you are a stock escort cosworth in a chav park. Ian W
Any joy? Well, I had a little chuckle but turns out you're actually not that funny. There was a question mark so that takes care of me asking you the question...despite the fact you didn't answer. Back on topic, I agree with Ollie and the rest in that you most certainly wouldn't see a genuine escort cossie in a tesco car park any more than you'd see a supra. Matt H
My goodness, you are serious. You are deluded my friend. You are more likely to find a bright orange Supra in your local chav hot spot than a stock Escort Cossie I like the way that the person who obviously is completely deluded to the way the general non petrolhead person would perceive an escort cosworth with its whale tail and its stuck on styling appendages is brandishing the word deluded about! Yes my car is orange, if you want anymore confirmation on that then there are loads more examples where people have referred to the colour of my supra after reading something they disagree with
Matt H
Well, I had a little chuckle but turns out you're actually not that funny. Tom
I'd love to have a drive of an Escort Cossie, I'm pretty sure I've seen under 5 in the last 5 years on the road

gordy07
I have to agree with the majority here,i would love an escort cosworth especially an unmolested example:) I love supras too but if i could afford it i would have both. And a 911Turbo,R35,R34,Diablo,Enzo;)......................etc Definately not a chav car:Pling:

Chris Wilson
I had never, ever seen one go quickly on a track day, or in a race, until Rod Birley bit the bullet, put his money where his mouth was, and built a racer from a proper WRC car, to replace his race Prelude that he'd sold. The car is awesome, and has been extremely reliable, but is a million miles away from stock. http://www.rodbirley.com
shaft
rite, my buddy has a tuned up big turbo rs cosworth and WOW it/they are a serious machine. NOT a chavmobile in any sence of the word. a true all time classic. the end
