alaing
I like to buy and sell cars in my spare time. Ive done a couple but i find it takes to long to turn them round, just because u have to wait for the v5 to come back from the dvla. ( this realise on the old owner sending the v5 away the dvla messing about with it etc) I have found it can take upto 4 weeks! So how do traders get around this i would like to know. Any help? thanks alain:)
RiceRocket
Probably something to do with Trader status. Have you read all the info on the V5?
ozz
Could be tax implications if you do it through trader status, I'm guessing you don't pay tax atm.
D8MOA
i often fill in the trader section on the log book as in a few weeks it will be sent off again with the details of who buys the car
alaing
d8moa how long do you find it takes? Does the log book come through to you without your name as a keeper on it if you fill in the trader section? thanks
adnanshah247
no mate, you send off the yellow slip to notify the dvla that you as a trader have bought the car, it does not add owners to the history. you then keep the full log book from the previous owner and when you sell you put the new owners details into the old log book. dvla know that you were between the owners.
