Nick
Nick, Scroll back, i've posted our route Whoops, found it. Be careful around Gent and Antwerp as that's where the police usually sit. No point speeding around there anyway, too easy to miss your exit and some parts of the road are a bit rough. Inbetween though there's some very nice long straight stretches of road... Just watch out for the Belgium drivers. Most seem to pull out after a quick glance in their mirror without checking to see how fast the car behind is closing. The attitude seems to be "I'm coming out, so you'll have to wait" which has given me a few scares in the past.

JohnK
Who is planning on taking their radar detector? Ive just read the following on the AA website reguarding France: It is absolutely prohibited to carry, transport or use radar detectors. The detector will be confiscated, a heavy deposit toward fine imposed, followed by a court summons, with the possible risk of the confiscation of the vehicle. Not sure it applies to GPS based units but pointless taking them as most dont have the correct databases. I have taken mine through before as I like to use it as a speedo. We are only in France for 35 miles but are likely to attract attention!
Whitelightning
All cameras are on my PDA, mapped accross France. The PDA is then bluetoothed to a GPS device in the glove compartment. Warnings are clear and directional (POI over TomTom). I suspect you will be following my lead, so when I slow down to sublight speed theres a good chance we have a tail or a camera lol
JohnK
The French are aware of PDA GPS databases, they are iligal too. I have the route ect planned out as I thought I was leading.
