Nick
Unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out of this as I'd completely forgotten I'd already promised to go to a mates 30th brithday bash that weekend. I didn't realise until I went to book the hotel, very p*ssed off.
JohnK
OK ive just entered the route on my sat nav, a brief summery follows: From tunnel (French end!) take the A16 and A18 up the coast to just east of Ostend. A10 to Ghent A14 to Antwerp A1 around Antwerp onto the A13 Pick up the A21 which becomes the A67 to Eindhoven. A67 becomes the A40 to Duisburg. Around Duisburg on the A42 Pick up the A43 and head north to Munster and the hotel. Thats all for now folks. Should be all you need to see where you can join us J-spec. Jspec Germany
Ok fellas, sounds good to me. The only thing I have to do is pay the SONID people. Did you guys wait for something to come in the post or how did you pay? I think I have to my bank. The next thing will be to figure out where on the A40 to meet up. ETA to Venlo (right at the Dutch/German border) where A67 becomes the A40 would be awesome. Venlo is about an hour north of me. We can also coordinate via cell phones, although it's expensive, short comms with updates of position will work. Let me know.
CJ
I have paid SONID 700 euros for the following: 1. CJ + Josh 2. John K + Vix 3. Faye + Keith 4. Ian + A N Other 5. Marco + A N Other

JohnK
Thanks CJ Ok fellas, sounds good to me. The only thing I have to do is pay the SONID people. We can also coordinate via cell phones, although it's expensive, short comms with updates of position will work. Let me know. I will try to work out some rough times tonight and see if there is a sevice station we can meet at close to where you say. Have you got a de limiter yet? JohnK
Ok.......... There seems to be a sevices (with a shell station!) on the A67 / A40 (E34) directly north of Venlo between junctions 40 and 41. This would be a good place for us to refuel as its about 200 miles in for us. Given that the tunnel is on time and the traffic is good to us we should get here around 17.30 local time. Jspec Germany
Excellent research John. Sounds like a plan stan. Shell is good for everybody I think. No delimiter yet. Planning it soon though. I hear the install is a piece of cake. I plan on the purchase just after the 15th of this month. That should put it here by the 1st of July. No worries. Too bad Nic dropped out man. He was only about 75 minutes from me. Do you have brand names on the radios you guys are using?
CJ
Gulp - 200 miles of "spirited" driving will see me clear a tank of petrol. I can feel another "twitchy bum" moment coming on here
JohnK
Faye is the best person to ask about the radios. CJ - The dutch have gatso's on the motorways! not sure if the belgans do now and the french have become the gestapo of speed limit enforcment! So progress may not be as spirited as we'd like. Faye
Do you have brand names on the radios you guys are using? I've got two BT Freeway FMs. Does that help?
CJ
I've got two BT Freeway FMs. Does that help? I'll find out what Gav has got to lend us. He says he has four which would do us nicely eh?
Jspec Germany
Recommend no more than 140 kph through Belgium and The Netherlands gents and lady. Once you get into Germany though, it's push it up time and hammer down. Thanks for the dope on the radios. I will have to dig mine up and just hope that they're compatible. Nick
Still p*ssed off I'm not coming. What route are you taking to Germany? I go Calais-Dunkirk-Ostende-Gent-Antwerp-Breda when I go home. Been told there's Gatso around Antwerp but I've yet to see one, let alone see one go off. Haven't noticed anything between Calais and Antwerp. There's various traffic cameras but neither I, or my mate have got anything through the post after 1.5years of tearing through there. If they catch you you're in for a stiff fine so keep some cash handy, but the police are few and far between, just keep an eye out... Jspec - We'll have to organise a meet one weekend. Got a mate living in Aarchen so we could meet half way ish....? CJ - Money received, thanks.
