He was hobbling all weekend and should have got a prize for best disabled driver !!
Marco
Hi all, We got back from denmark yesterday. It was an amazing trip and meet!!! Great to meet all of you and also lots and lots of Danish people. It was a trip I'll never forget. Good we all got a little trophy! After the meet Peter and me went to Legoland and some general cruising/exploring Denmark. Wednesday we went karting with Jesper (the stunt driver) and his mate Annas. It was an outdoor track of 400meters with 250cc karts. During the race it started raining, so we could practise some drifting! lol We drove back at night, it was a long trip (850km). The supra behaved perfectly and never let us down. You got to love the 100RON petrol in Germany We took over 1300 pictures, here's one we took in Esbjerg. Faye
There were about 70-80, only about 8 or so MKIVs
Guest SavageDK
Hey guys! I just returned from a week with 2500 km's og swedish highways and by-ways. Note to self, driving 260 km/h in sweden is great, no cops around and the best of all, the swedes stick to the right side of the road (your left side i guess!!) The beast of the deep eh? hmm... i want that vid censored Ian: I definitely need a pack of anal blockers next time im going travelling... had to empty my wastegate 8 times on the way home!!! You guys are great! We will see each other again before you even want to see us again, HOHO! Michael
Whitelightning
Michael, glad to hear you are keeping the Swedes awake I shall box up some biscuits for you to take on your next travels ! I was thinking that we should have national representatives for the next Euro meet, then they can org getting the nations supras to the UK. We could also have National competitions based round the nominated 3 cars from each country or something like that. Lots of ideas here so shoot me down if they seem silly or need upgrading
Guest SavageDK
Your ideas sound interresting Ian Maybe we should change Supra - Accept no Substitute ! to Supra -Accept no Prostitute? Was just thinking
Guest SavageDK
So, let me get this right, I can move to denmark, not work, own a supra and still party 24/7 ???? Hehe, yeah, basicly, sadly it doesnt work that way with a Mk 4 Michael
Guest SavageDK
I would just like to point out that the person holding the flag over Michaels car was a stunt double . . . and not me !!!! I wasn't there, I know nothing, gov'nor ! Hehe, i had hoped it was Kim and Erik doing it, i tried to scare the shit out of them by hunting them that morning, trying to convince them that they had scratched my paint Unfortunately they werent the culprits! Hehe, its ok, im not mad, was a good joke And for the record, i wasnt mad that morning, i just pretended to be Was way to hungover to really be mad... it raises the bloodpressure and that means pounding headaches Kinda like running up the stairs while hungover... OUCH Michael
Jspec Germany
*green with envy* Well folks, the wife and I just returned from the states. Sorry to have missed the meet. Having to bail out two days before really hurt, but a death in the family kinda takes priority. So I've crossed the pond 4 times in the last 2 weeks and my circadian rhythm is not pleased. I look forward to the next meet you guys attend outside England as that gives me a better chance of attending. Perhaps next spring, the wife and I will drive up to the U.K. and try to visit, make a few gatherings. If you guys have vids and pics, please let me know what I need to get ahold of them. I'd like to see and hear everything that I missed. Thanks.
Whitelightning
We were sorry not to catch up with you, but rest a ssured we had fun on your roads in Germany Video in preparation, been busy this week so its been delayed.
Jspec Germany
Whenever it's ready, it's cool. Can't wait to see it. Pardon the drunkeness, but I just came from our German friends' place. They've been loadin me up on beer and homemade brandy all night. A shame I couldn't make it. Would've been nice to be in that nice little half-moon of MKIV's. I'm sure we did the model proud from what I hear there weren't many there. Too bad. I have a feeling that nobody contacted the Germans via their websites. Perhaps in the future, I can act as a conduit with the little bit of German I speak. There are two guys in the club that "make the speak" in the words of Dances With Wolves. D3xt3r and Fun4... I forget. Either way, we should try to better organize and culminate all our resources in the future so that our cars are better represented at *foreign* meets. While it's fun to be the unique and rare spectacle at a meet, what do you learn if there are no others like you? Just my two cents.
Whitelightning
Yeah it was a shame, I don't know what advertising SONID did to get people on board, I found out from this forum in this thread, i wonder if they posted in other forums ? I personally wasnt going to enter any competitions, Im not that competitive and TAZ is not ready to be thrashed. The Danish loved Mkivs and I wish there had been more there. But one good thing did come out of this, my awareness of the other Supra models Believe me if the Danish COULD have mkivs they WOULD !! I feel sorry for them and their car tax system But part of the event was the drive there and back, we all love driving our cars and we got to play on the German autobahns Even grumpy JohnK was smiling
Jspec Germany
I'm glad you guys and gals had a good time. The autobans rock. I've only been here a year and haven't as of yet had the pleasure of abusing them to the extent that I'd like. Soon enough, that dream will come to fruition though. I can see the A46 from my back porch and the on ramp is only 900m away.
Guest Soldier9
You know, most people would actually consider that a bad thing to be able to see the autobahn from your porch, but I really like the idea of that Only downside is that there's no time to reach operating temperature unless you let it idle for a while before driving... The view is a nice one off in the distance with lots of trees and a farm in between, so it's no bother. I usually let the car idle for 2-3 minutes before pulling out of the garage and then it's 1-2 minutes to the on-ramp. That 900m is as the crow flies. lpher
Yeah it was a shame, I don't know what advertising SONID did to get people on board, I found out from this forum in this thread, i wonder if they posted in other forums ? I know they posted around on Swedish and Norwegian Supra/Toyota-forums atleast I personally wasnt going to enter any competitions, Im not that competitive and TAZ is not ready to be thrashed. The Danish loved Mkivs and I wish there had been more there. But one good thing did come out of this, my awareness of the other Supra models Believe me if the Danish COULD have mkivs they WOULD !! I feel sorry for them and their car tax system As i understand it...they can have them...and there are a few danish mkIV's...but as you say their tax-system makes them silly expensive...unfortunately just like in my Country... Dont know what a decent 94-95 Supra TT would amount to in denmark...but an early Supra TT registered in Norway will cost you from about 35.000UKP...and upwards! Whitelightning
JohnK, I have been editing the video, its basiclly done and is being uploaded now. DO YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TOOK TO EDIT OUT YOUR ABUSIVE FINGER WORK ?? Well, some of it was timely and funny so it stayed in , the video is 20 mins long and I have got it down to 50mb for the web version. I shall have to send out the original to the participants as a momento Now if only this would up load quicker . . . . . . . watch this space as they say
