Chris Wilson
Just having a trawl to pick up ideas for my Zeus intercooling when I came upon this beast. The Americans sure like to go OTT when building things http://www.spectrum5racing.com/Projects/cars.htm
Snooze
For fun, we took the car to the drag races and even with P-Zero street tires we turned consistent 10.00 sec quarter miles at over 160mph, with most of the acceleration occuring after 100mph when the wing made enough down-force to achieve traction. lol
jevansio
Nice car, although: Our Porsche 911 twin-turbo weighs 3125 lbs and produces 400bhp stock. This is good for 0-60mph in 3.6 seconds and 12 second quarter miles. We've run this car in 5 of the Silver State Classic races and the car will do 187mph on 92 octane pump gas. If you run 100 octane, it will run at 195mph. Remove the windshield wipers and rear view mirrors and you pickup 7mph for 202mph. Not bad for an all wheel drive showroom stock vehicle. Typical Americans seem to have exaggerated every figure possible bar the stock bhp, I'm not sure they are geared for 200mph+
Angarak
I'd like to live where he does (not the same house, but in the same area)

Was caught on radar gun, not sure what power mods were done but i'm guessing it was a stock gearbox. Can't be sure though.

Mike
We quickly reached 225mph in 5th gear, so we still had 6th gear and about 700bhp available 225mph in a big bit of plastic!?

Gazboy
The Silverstate really does make a mockery of the Texas Milers.
Gaz Walker
Thats brilliant Nice car, although: Typical Americans seem to have exaggerated every figure possible bar the stock bhp, I'm not sure they are geared for 200mph+ They are, I've seen it first hand on the Autobahn
jevansio
996's defo aren't, they max out at 197mph unless the RPM is upped, or they have an uprated box (RUF). I doubt the 993 will be geared to be faster than the 996. If they're pulling over 200 either their speedo is out or it's not standard.
