Carl_S
I'm torn between throwing my mobile away (and living in a solar powered mud hut) and buying a new pretty mobile. It does not help being on three network which is a disgrace at the moment in my locality. I think that the wish to go back to pre-mobile times is part of the generic wish to turn back the clock, and rose tinted glasses.
Pot
I just have a cup with a bit of string tied to it, but it's got crackly after I got excited after calling some grumble lines...

Tannhauser
I think that the wish to go back to pre-mobile times is part of the generic wish to turn back the clock, and rose tinted glasses. I disagree. The people on here complaining abut phones are, after all, using the internet to discuss it, so they can't be in favour of turning back the clock generically. I tend to avoid the phone as much as possible anyway, so for me the idea of a phone wherever you go isn't an attractive one. I can't argue with the utility of a mobile, it's just how insidiously (as Rosie pointed out) it has become a necessity for many people. Guest dangerousandy
But how do you know the number without looking it up in your mobile phones memory?? Actually, it is a bit scary. I used to know every single one of my friends and families numbers off by heart. I can still remember some of them actually... not that they are current anymore of course... For those who couldn't remember their numbers..there was the Filofax and a guards red Porsche 944!!! ahh the good old days .......I was only about 7 back then too haha!
