TNT
Went out today for a quick blast, whilst out I noticed a scraping sound, stopped and found a small plate under drivers side, about level with the wheel had come loose. Plate is about 6" x 4" slightly curved and has a barrel with a cable running through it. With my limited knowledge I would say its around the bottom of the auto gearbox? No reason why it should have dislodged. Not able to get a picture until the morning, real concern is that there was a trace of oil on my fingers after having lodged it back into place to get home. Everything seems to be running fine.
TrickTT
Shield for fuel filter? It will be drilled if it is.
Jake
Fuel filter is on the other side though.
TNT
Hopefully get it looked at this morning, if it is the shield for the fuelfilter what would the cable be running through the barrel? Let you know later.

Soonto_HAS_soop
Do the auto boxes have the inspection plates like the manuals do? They are slightly curved, can't remeber if they are tethered though.

Luka-P
It won't be the fuel filter shield, that's on the passenger side. The autos don't have an inspection point, just a rubber cap which fits into the block to gain access to the torque converter bolts. Does the plate have a grommet fitted to it and the cable runs through this?
TrickTT
Only thing I can think of on the drivers side is the cat temp sensor then.
w41k3r
yeah i thought it was the cover for the temp sensor from memory it had like a silver round bracket where a wire maybe steel line ran threw it but im sure its where the sensor was mine fell down and was haanging from the silver line. the full item is a piece of curved metal bwt 6 inch by 6 inch then the little round bracket off that
Konrad
Only thing I can think of on the drivers side is the cat temp sensor then. It was cat temp sensor indeed. Shield removed as it was just piece of rusty, damaged metal
TNT
Thanks to Konrad, I learn something new again, it looked a lot simpler in daylight. Thanks for all the advice.
