dandan
Those of you who have modded your water elbow... Can you tell me what size the holes are that are left when you pull the standard barb/pipe pieces out? I'm trying to find a fitting to thread in there but need to what to tap it to first. The reason I am asking and not doing is I am getting evrything up together forst before commencing! Cheers Dan

RobSheffield
Any reason you are not just tig welding it up?
dandan
I want to tap them both, blank one and then feed water to the DBB cartridge off the other. I'm just trying to work out what thread I can get away with: #4AN would be a 7/16" UNF and that would need something like a clean 9.75mm hole to tap. M12x1.25 would be more like a clean 10.75mm hole to tap. Obviously the smaller the holes are the more meat left in the original part for integrity. dandan
Anyone? I would go to measure one of the barbs but my vernier seemed to freeze to death in the garage!
dandan
Just in case anyone picks this up on a search.....the holes are 8.75 - 8.80mm diameter. I accidentally stumbled across a spare watr neck/elbow in a set of drawers in my garage - a nice find!
Tricky-Ricky
Can't find the bit of studding i used, but after a quick check of my taps i'm pretty sure i used M12x1.75, simply because that the size of the SS studding, i'm sue M10 will be just fine.
