tony666 Posted December 30, 2008 Share Posted December 30, 2008 hi there i have a 94 n/a.went to start today battery flat so used jump leads to start.my idiot of a brother put them on wrong and blew two fuses and battery knackered.just put new battery on and new fuses still wont start.i have lights put no windows and alarm not working.there is a red warning light on left hand side of dash which stays on.can anyone help.thanks tony Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

tony666 Posted December 31, 2008 Author Share Posted December 31, 2008 thanks for replys.just going out now to check fuses inside car and the 120 amp fuse under fuse box.i just hope it is a fuse and not ecu.if 120 amp fuse will i have to get from toyota or would halfords do one. Guest Dave J Posted December 31, 2008 Share Posted December 31, 2008 I did this to an Evo 6 a couple of years ago, i checked everything but it all pointed to a damaged Gems ecu. I sent this away and it cost £80 to be checked but it seemed fine to Gems. In the end i paid Steve Simpson to come to me and he tracked it down to a damaged capacitor which had cut the live feed to the ecu. He ran a new switched live and all was good again. tony666 Posted December 31, 2008 Author Share Posted December 31, 2008 thanks for that dave will do.just found that i have blown the 120amp fuse.still have to check fuses inside footwell but i have to warm up first.ordered new fuse from toyota £13 but wont be here until saturday or monday.if it is ecu can i just swop it over with my spare one.
