Overheating Issues.

Right guys.

I picked my car up from the garage this morning, last month one of my matrix pipes burst so I put it in to have them all replaced.

I have had overheating issues for quite a while, originally a new rad cap sorted them.

Now this morning, when I started the car, I gave it a few revs and could hear a swirling noise coming from behind the dash, the gauge in the cluster went to half way very very quickly.

Now there is hot air coming from the heaters, but it seams to drop in temp as my revs/speed drops. The gauge also rises and falls in the same manner.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Thanks, James

had the swirling noise only when I started the car,

no gauge problems by the way...

so I heard it could be the waterpump, replaced it..

also the thermostat,

also new rad.cap, cause they have put out the "plug" inside,

so it did not stand any pressure...

Then 5 minutes after driving the car , the radiator cracked just behind the rad cap, cause of build up pressure from the new rad cap....i read you burst a pipe...

now I've put in new koyo rad. and no problems anymore,

so I think the old rad. was blocked inside, didn't look very whorn though...

Off to Halfords this morning, bought 3 5L bottles of anti freeze.

Got home and jacked the car up on the passengers side, removed the rad cap and ran the engine with the heaters on full blast.

I gave the matrix pipes at the back a squeeze every couple of minutes, and put in about 1/4L of antifreeze.

One thing I did notice was the bottom red hose was very cold. So I though *fudge it*

Took the car out for a drive and for half an hour I watched anticipating the needle going up.

The temp gauge never budged and the heating was red hot, so for the first time in months I'm finally getting somewhere. I can go put the Molotov back on the shelf now :)
