Jellybean
Just Quick Q Basically I have the Boost controller turned off and she Boosts at 1 BAR, I presume this is because the car has a SARD ROM mapped to do this? I taught she should stop at 0.8 BAR by factory default?
mikeyb10supra
do you have both cats still in? or a different exhaust?
Jellybean
do you have both cats still in? or a different exhaust? From what I can tell the First cat is in and I have a Sard Mig Arouse exhaust System with what looks like a Sard CAT (2nd CAT) You are getting around my posts this morning Mikey
mikeyb10supra
ha ha im not uaually this efficient im just sitting in today so got nout better to do Sounds like you have the same setup as me so 1bar is pretty normal to be honest. Becuase your second cat has gone that allows for less back pressure hence the higher boost level you are seeing. Nothing to worry about, 1.2bar is about your safety limit and is what most people run on a BPU car
Jellybean
I taught anything over 0.8 bar with the First cat in is not recomended I an currently trying to restrict her to 0.8 bar witht he boost controller but so far no luck, little betty still wants to sit at 1.0 bar Just going to keep at it; adjusting the duty cycle on the boost solinoide Edited December 30, 2008 by Jellybean (see edit history)

The only way to bring it back down again is to either re-fit the second cat or fit some sort of restriction in the exhaust path. Ive run with my first cat in for 4 years now and its been fine > this has been sitting happily at 1.1bar the whole time. You have a cat temp sensor so if things got bad im sure this would ping on

You have a cat temp sensor so if things got bad im sure this would ping on Thanks that makes Sense, I was under the assumption you could restrict the boost to what ever level you wished Electronically overiding anything mechanical. Based on this new info, my car is mechanically set at 1.0 bar for obvious reasons I cant increase the Boost due to first cat is in and even with the first cat out and with her restricted to 1.2 bar mechanically again (restrictor Ring) Therefore the purpose of the boost controller I assume this is to regulate the Boost and more importantly to obtain a solid map so she sustains a solid presure at X bar across the rev range plus you get features as Scramble(equivalent of turbo boost in knight rider)
