dandan
Is anybody here running reasonable torque (let's say over 450 lbf.ft ) through a CW clutch? Anyone know of someone who's pushed one to slipping point? Cheers Dan
Kev.O
Not much help at the moment I admit Dan, but I have one fitted to my T61. I'm going to be getting the car mapped in the new year. I'm hoping for around 500 lbf.ft
dandan
OK thanks Kev, let me know how you get on please. Chris and I spoke about it but he wasn't 100% sure how much it would take so I'm wondering who has one and what sort of torque thery are putting through it...hmmmmmm Anyone else? Chris wasn't 100% when I spoke to him. I won't/can't do any drag starts, but that's not what I got the car for. I wanted something that is as close to stock as possible. Looks like I'm going to be the guinea pig
bignum
I think for normal usage it`d be fine, drag starts would probably kill it though.

Thorin
I believe it's essentially the same as the RPS Street(?) clutch (ie. stock clutch with modified pressure plate). So I'd go by whatever they quote.
dandan
The Supra is my daily driver in the summer months. I have two other cars dedicated to track use so no point having three.

Thorin
That's interesting as that is what I am considering replacing it with! It may not be the RPS "Street", I'm unsure of the RPS range, but the lower-end one is definately a stock clutch with modified pressure plate. Chris Wilson
I rate them at +20% torque over stock, and no drag usage.
Tricky-Ricky
I think the RPS Street sport is rated at 540ftlb which is what i replaced my stock clutch with when i was running BPU++ and its still doing fine with my GT4088.
dandan
I rate them at +20% torque over stock, and no drag usage. And I think quite a few people have held ~360lbf.ft on a stock plate so that puts a potentialceiling of about 430 on one of your uprated ones Chris....maybe more but nobody seems to know. Ball bags...I think this means I need another new clutch setup....jesus!
