Kranz
Dry powder makes a hell of a mess..... and if it gets into an engine then it eats aluminium. Halon is best if you can get it.... then AFF foam
dangerous brain
That'll be in case the cheap fireworks at lidls go off in the car I got loads for £30 today. the rockets are flaming huge and as cheap for a pack of six as I've seen paid for one the same size. PJ
After having an engine fire in my Range Rover last week I'd recomend getting some sort of extinguisher for any road vehicle.

Thorin
Nasty stuff Halon, our old computer room fire suppression system was filled with the stuff. Everyone was told when starting that if the fire alarm sounded, GET THE F&$* OUT AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!1! Inergen is the gas of choice these days, it would just cause you to breathe heavily I believe. dangerous brain
The fire extinguishant where I used to work in a gas turbine engine test facility dropped the temperature to below -100 degrees in less than a second. And the fact that it was carbon dioxide if you were in there when it went off you'd be a dead man.
