Digsy
Anyone know what "*\Missing Text\*" means? My lady keeps getting this instead of the text I actually sent. And if anyone says "it means the text is missing..."
mawby
It means a long text message has been sent to the phone and one of the parts has gone missing. Long SMS messages aren't really long at all, they are just sent as several normal SMS messages and need reconstructing at the other end into the sent long message. Your phone will wait about a minute for all the SMSs to arrive, and if they don't it'll give you that message.
Digsy
Cheers Mawby....I'd buy that except that the message in question was only a few characters long. No way it would have been split into multiple parts.
SexySallySupra
This means you service provider has a problem, you need to give them a call. Basicly what I would advise is that they suspend and restore your network, this will flush out any bugs you may have collected over the months. mawby
Regrads *a vodafone business advisor* Maybe you can help with a problem myself and Genna have. I have a contract Vodafone mobile, and she has a contract O2 mobile. I used to have the O2 one and had no problems for the 3+ years I had it. Genna has it now as I got a stranky new one from Vodafone. Anyway, I can send Genna a text message fine, and she can send me one, but often if she sends me one I cannot reply, the error "Number not in use" comes back. The only way I can send her a text then is to start a call from my mobile to hers, but hang up before it starts ringing. Then I can send a text message fine until she replies to me again, at which point I have to go through the calling process again. Any ideas? Regrads *a vodafone business advisor* It seems to have cleared now, or been related specifically to that text (I tried to send the same one twice). Very odd. If you work for Vodafone I suggest you treat me with kid gloves Not having a good time with them right now.

Your phone is no doubt configured to use Vf's SMSC # & not the other party .. but check it anyway (On a Nokia it's Messages->Message Settings->Short Message Service Centre Number) It'll be a 12 digit number in International Format - it's a routing number to the SMSC. What about other O2 subscribers ? I'm with Vodafone & a few of my friends are with O2 and I haven't seen this error.

Hello Again, Interesting problem you have there, I am aware of a huge problem that Vodafone have with the O2 network and vice-versa, even more so where the Sony Ericson K700i is involved. But anyway, which handset do you have? The first thing I would point the figure at would be a software fault on your phone, try your Sim card in another (different) Vodafone handset and send the SMS to Genna from there. Let me know how this goes, I am looking further into the problem. Good post regrading your mail box number but if you are able to access your voicemail this will mean there isnt a fault with that! Alex
Vodaphone was not working properly in Norwich last night....i couldn't send or receive texts. And to cap it off my phone seems to be doing the Nokia "timed to expire in 1 year count down".
Digsy
Vodaphone was not working properly in Norwich last night....i couldn't send or receive texts. Yeah I had a text outage from about 11:00 until 09:00 this morning, although voice calls were not affected. So far after 2 months on my new contract I've had 3 weeks of no service on my local transmitter (although I did get compensation for that).
