Bossco
Does anyone know the name of the part which joins the down pipe to the the back of the engine? After leaving the down pipe the inside splits into 2, if thats any help???? I need one but dont know what to ask for as when removing my down pipe to de-cat it, the bolts snapped and wont come out, so I cant join my new pipe to the rest of the car. Cheers. bignum
On a tt its a exhaust gas bypass valve housing, on an n/a its a manifold, it will be a pig to remove though, you might be better drilling out the snapped studs and retapping. What are we talking about here, TT? NA? VVTi?
Bossco
We are talking TT. It looks like Bignum has the answer with exhaust gas bypass valve housing. Te bolts on mine wont come out which is why I'm trying to find a replacement with the bolts already removed.
RobSheffield
EGBV housing is the bit above what you are looking for i believe, although im not sure what the correct bit is called. Its like a 'y' piece almost, but as cast piece with 2 bolts out the top and 3 out the bottom.
Luka-P
If it's UK turbos then the three bolt flange will split into two sections and fitted to the downpipe via three studs. JSpec has the downpipe -> EGCV -> three bolt flange ie it's in three sections as opposed to just one.
