Chris Wilson
I want to be able to internally purge stainless pipe fabrications, but can't justify hiring two full size bottles. Can you buy an adaptor to run two regulators off one full size Argon mix bottle? One to run the TIG and one with desperate pressure control, to purge the fabrication? If such a thing is made does anyone knows who sells such a thing? Thanks.
Paul
If you don't get an answer tonight I can have a word with our welding lab at work as we specialise in stainless aerospace ducting and I'd have thought they would know. Edit: We get stuff from these guys, might be worth a call? http://www.huntingdonfusion.com or these http://www.westcoweld.co.uk/

Chris Wilson
I have asked on a welding forum, too. If no one gets back with a place that sells them I will take you up on that, and Paul's kind offer, thanks.
peter richards
its only a "Y" conector and an extra float you need chris . the "Y" comes off the guage you have splits in two
Chris Wilson
Float? What do you mean by float? I am not sure what you mean here, will I still end up being able to control purge and welding gas volumes separately?? Thanks
peter richards
yes this is the "Y" this comes off your guage http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3%2F8-BSP-Y-PIECE-WITH-VALVES---RH-THREAD_W0QQitemZ310105297225QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20081202?IMSfp=TL081202197004r20373 then one of these on each point one to the gun / or the back of the machine the other into whatever you want to purge http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TIG-WELDING-GAS-FLOW-METER-FLOWMETER-0-15-L-M_W0QQitemZ150316290265QQihZ005QQcategoryZ11774QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262 both controled separate to whatever you require
Chris Wilson
Right, I'm with you now peter, having a mental block then... I'll order them off that site, and I need some bigger tungstens and collets for a second bigger torch I got with the TIG, for welding thicker alloy, I have been struggling with a 1.2 mm tungsten and too thin a filler rod, someone showed me what I was doing wrong the other day, cheers. peter richards
just check chris that the "Y" is ok for argon , the one in the link is an oxy "Y" , but should be ok . what size tungstens do you need mate
Chris Wilson
3.2 mm for welding thicker aluminium, using 1/8 or thicker filler rods. I am about to try using the foot pedal, having been just using a simple torch "ON / OFF" switch on the torch handle until now. I have seen how sloping the current makes welding heavier aly much easier.
