ADD: small hijack for my own info, but what did you use to charge the battery within an hour? Was it a jump from another car, or one of those mains-powered battery boosters? (I ask because I may be in the same position myself with a flat battery, but thought that the boosters needed 12 hours ish to do anything)

Stevie no worries mate, i used a mains charger mate. ATB

Just wondering, as your sig says EMU. Can you check its getting power and the map isnt corrupt? reason i say this is incase you used a booster mode on the charger to start the car, which is not recommended with any sort of engine management. We have had 2 mapecuII cars over the last few weeks which would not start after owners had used boosters - turned out both units were fried so to speak. I know you said charger but I wasnt clear, and its a good warning to others anyway ;)

Though Its still sounds like a coilpack or clip from what you have said, coupled with a code 14 which means the Igniter has fired but got no confirmation back that a spark actually occoured.

ok I've changed the spark plugs and coil packs with no success, the problem is still there! But I've been thinking this is an interrmitent problem and happens even when the car is on tick over so if it was plugs it would be happening all the time surely? Not sure what to do now? Cheers

Was talking to my dad last night and aparently my bro-in-law had to get my car out of the garage to get into the loft and to start the it he used the mains charger on 'boost function' :( so im sure it has frazzled the ignitor pack!!! which i think im right in saying it would do?

The worse thing about it was he must have pressed the boost button and walked round the drivers side to start it, had to walk back round the front to turn it off! so your looking at a good 10 seconds worth of frying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ADD as I mentioned earlier ive seen a few aftermarket Piggy backs not liking a boost charge at all :(

I would see if the EMU is powering ok, and if possible, check you can connect to it via laptop (or maybe someone near you could do it)

Its definately something i would look into
