Havard
I started typing my own personal pain story but then remembered that I had told it once before on here......http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1762470&postcount=20 The part where they took samples from my knee without anaesthetic was bad but the removal of the bandages and the slow pulling out of all my hairs on my legs was worse!! ivan
As for doing it for me, I would need lots of alcohol and something to chew on/bite down on...Saved for posterity.

SilverSoop
Actually, come to think of it, I think the worse pain would be having your ball sack ripped off...like that bloke did...*winces* I have been trying in vain to find that thread, it was only on here a few days ago too... That must be the most extreme pain ever...

Jake
Blackwall Tunnel Syndrome? ey? You've heard the expression "Like the Blackwall Tunnel"? You were saying that childbirth wasn't all that painful, so I was making a comparison to the famous Blackwall Tunnel - nevermind.
Havard
Ouch H!! What caused your knee to do that then?? Apparently if you are a lazy pig and start using your knees or elbows a lot then you can burst a Bursa, why mine get infected I don't know.... My main problem was that it wasn't diagnosed fast enough and hence nearly lost my left leg..... I thought about suing the NHS for my ordeal but decided against it. H. Havard
Christ H, thats the first time I have heard of that happening! Can't believe you almost lost your leg!! Oh yes!! It's not fun physically watching your leg get worse every day even though they are plying you with really strong anti-biotics every 4 hours. Eventually the infection subsided but I was still left to two ops and a couple of months of work..... I remember asking the nurse what would happen if the infection got to my groin (as it was half way up my thigh), i remember her grimace and saying "We'll have to explore other options..!!".... The surgeon said another day or so and they would have had to do something drastic as if it got to your vital organs you'd be dead within 48 hours or so..... H. Pete
Bleeding 'ell, some of these sound horrible! The worse one for me was removal of an in growing toenail - the entire thing, from the root (plus some of the toenail root dug out). This was 17 years ago and unlike today it was done under a mild local anaesthetic in a doctors surgery, which lasted for all of 15 minutes. Once my mum had taken me home the anaesthetic had worn off completely and I was left with a fully open wound and major bleeding with no painkillers. It was absolute agony and think was the last time I actually cried! I've broken many bones but nothing compared to the intense, localised pain of that. Yup, been there, done that, although mine was only a quarter from the root - it never grew again.

I was gonna say Cluster Headaches too but couldn't be arsed to go into it - cos people think "yeah a headache, wow - big deal" I get them - (well got them, touch wood I haven't had one for about 18 months). Women who get Cluster Headaches (there's a Cluster Headaches Forum) say it's definitely worse them childbirth. When I get one it feels like I have a big metal spike through my right eyeball going all the way through the right hand side of my brain. The pain is absolutely incredible, I find it hard to imagine how any pain could be worse. It hurts so much that you cannot keep still. It's impossible to lie in bed or sit in a chair, or anything - whatever you do doesn't help. If I had them regularly I would honestly top myself. For comparison, I've seriously fooked myself up: broken arm x7, smashed wrist, elbow, broke my collar bone while wearing a wetsuit (try getting out of a wet suit with a broken collar bone), broken my nose 4 times (actually I didn't, other people broke it for me), had 'arc-eye' (that's really painful too), smashed my toes by dropping a mini gearbox on my foot, cut my own cyst out with a carving/bread knife, taken my own stitches out, burnt a wart off with a soldering iron, etc etc - not one of those things comes close to the pain of a cluster headache. Isn't that right, barneybrendan?
