DamanC
Cheers.... No 939's, annoying I threw one out about a month ago! Next stages: Get another PSU on it. If you have the time whip the lot out of the case and try it all (grounding) Replace Motherboard Replace Processor The only way to deturmine if the problem is the mobo or cpu is to try another. It probably 70% the motherboard although I had a 939 processor go a few month back as I found after swapping the motherboard out You could always return the cpu/motherboard if you have to buy one

ClaireRZ-S
What make is the comp i presume its out of warranty?
supra-ireland
Ok, tried to remove everything. Power to the two SATA drives. All to no avail, still nothing. No further beeps, just one of the SATA drives having a little spin up for 1/4 of a second and idling down. Completely disconnect the SATA drives, power and data cables. Try to start up then. If you achieve some success with this get back to me and I'll see if I can help anymore. -Best of Luck, Paul

I'm more worried about getting my data back, I guess striping two 200GB SATA disks is good while the MB works, but when it goes bang... What make is the comp i presume its out of warranty? It's a four year old, build it yourself jobbie, so no taking it back...
carl0s
I'm more worried about getting my data back .. striping two 200GB SATA disks d'oh! I'm sure you'll be fine if you go for a motherboard with the same fakeraid chip, but it's never a good idea to stripe if you're worried about keeping your data and don't have a backup. MrRalphMan
Most important things are replicated to a second PC. Will have lost some stuff, but not the end of the world.
MrRalphMan
Right.. Tried some more things, barring removing the MB from the case and I get nothing. The BIOS is meant to have voice warnings, starting from 'No CPU' upwards, but even with a bare board I do not get this.. I can only assume that the board is kaput. A colleague sent me this, almost tempted, but a bit big with a low resolution for a desktop.. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154640 Maybe if I could get a cheap MB of the same model, I might give it a go, but I might just bite the bullet after Xmas and get a new MB bundle. MrRalphMan
Nup.. as I don't have a spare.. like I don't have a spare anything TBH... well I found a red biro under the PC when I moved it, but that didn't help either.
