Blackie
....Two friends and i were going up to see Carter usm and Emf in Brixton a couple of weeks ago and in the car on the way up i said i wish i brought bottle caps as at the concert they take them off your full bottle of water so you dont make a missle out of them at the bands. My friend (Who was with me last year at Carter) said "Surely chucking bottle caps wouldent hurt the band" Did i say it wrong?

Animal
I was talking to a lad who was at the Download festival this year. Kid Rock was meant to be playing followed by the band he wanted to see, so he thought he'd get down to the front as no-one would be bothered about Kid Rock and he'd have a good spot for tyhe next band. Well, it came over the tannoy that Kid Rock had been taken ill and wouldn't be playing. Next thing, a group of lads walked past looking really dejected carrying half a dozen bottles of piss they'd been saving "Bloody hell, we're going to have to throw these away now..." Made me laugh anyway.
tonyhawk
When Faith No More supported Guns and Roses (1992 I think) they encouraged a spanish crowd to throw bottles! Someone urinated in one and then threw it at the band. After much on stage discussion about it, Mike Pattern took the bottle, crouched infront of the big monitor and poured it over his head.... Rock and Roll eh...
Snooze
Interesting - my mate just drinks water at gigs too, and he actually mentioned the same solution of bringing along his own bottle top AT THE BAR AT BRIXTON AT THE CARTER GIG!
RedM
Anyone remember Metallica's first appearance at Donnington? It was like war had broken out although, due to the crowd size, none of them got near the stage.

I think I've just understood the idea behind this. You want to drink water...and dance. So the bottle top is so you don't spill it everywhere.
