Guest montzz1
I have got myself a set of stunning 2 piece split rims volks rays in 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 but to fit them i have to replace all the wheel studs with 20mm longer wheel studs i started this afternoon on the rearxs first as i knew they would take the longest but half hour into it got family visiting ,:blink:typical! but beings as im not rude entertained them for few hours and then went back in garage and managed to replace all in 1 rear and put 1 volks ray on ,looks sooooooo much better will take some before and after pics tomorrow of studs and wheels and put them up for all admire:p

michel lane
you are supposed to use the volk fitment lugnuts which are not provided with new wheels , they have a deep insert, which is flush with the studs. Using different lugnuts will damage your wheels, just a word of advice.
Guest montzz1
damage? in what ways that? would like to add im a mechanic so generally know what im doing
merckx
I wasn't sure what Michel meant at first but do you mean for example like the nuts in the pic where the tapered seat is located at approximately half way along the nut rather than being at the end. I have these fitted on my Volk GTC wheels. you are supposed to use the volk fitment lugnuts which are not provided with new wheels Not provided with new wheels? bodilx6
Yeah! Where did you get longer wheel nuts? I haven't been able to find any and would love to be able to add a 10mm space on my fronts..
merckx
Best to do a search if you want to know where to get longer studs from. The place where I got mine closed down and they weren't made by a known manufacturer. Next time I would get some from a company who specialise in making stuff like this, I recall a member getting some from the US. H & R ?
jacko
I ordered some off the net but they were the wrong ones, luckily Les at JDP had some in stock, dont know where he gets them from though

merckx
What is JDP? Any Tom, Dick or Harry can sell wheel studs. Do a search and get some quality ones from a known manufacturer
Guest montzz1
First would like to add i used exactly the same lug nuts as those volks ones i just didnt pay 90 quid for mine! try less than half that , just shows im not a num nut after all , also the wheels i got are not especally for a supra so went longer to get plenty of thread grip after all they were resonalbly priced i better not say how much will make enemys fast lol il get you longer studs work out 2 quid each there abouts depends on lenght you require i went for 20mm longer all round and they are very well made if you local i will fit them for a v resonable rate if you need someone too
