Terrible shot.....

From that distance, I thought the guy managed to get two bloody good throws, great pace and no deviation in trajectory. I would say that everyone in that room including the guy wasn't expecting those quick reflexes from the tosser.

Good reflexes, but maybe he's been expecting it for some time.

IIRC (from the BBC) isn't it considered to be the ultimate insult to be shown the soles of an Arabs shoes, etc.? So the guy that threw his shoes really meant a lot more than just trying to hit him with them.

thats were the WMD's were all the time on that dudes feet clever hiding place no wonder they were never found not as effective as we were led to believe though.

I always suspect the reason why the Americans knew Iraq had WMD's was because they sold them to Iraq in the first place. Moment Iraq lokoed to be invaded I reckon they shipped them to Syria or some where else.

The feet are considered the least holy part of the body, where showing the soles of your feet to someone (albeit deliberately) is considered an insult. This extends through many eastern cultures.

S'pose then, throwing shoes is like giving the arm instead of the finger :D

Apparently, the man really said:

“This is the farewell kiss you dog….this is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq.”
