I am aware of the rotor tip issues, so will be seeking a recently rebuilt one! What is the model to go for in the 5-10k price range? Creature comforts preferred, so no RS-types! Cheers everyone! Ian C Posted December 13, 2008 Share Posted December 13, 2008 From what I've gleaned over the years: The sequential turbo system is way more complex than the Supra's, believe it or not, and the hoses all get hot and fail, causing sequential problems of a biblical nature. They fall to bits at a whiff of detonation, unlike the plucky 2JZ. The handling is very sensitive to alignment, ride height, and wheel size/tyre sidewall - i.e. it's a deathtrap. With only doing 20 miles a day you may be lucky enough to get into double figures but not much more, if you were to drive like Miss Daisy you may see 20-25mpg (if you are really careful).
