Since there have been a few bike related threads lately, i thought i would start a new one relating to those you have owned/built bikes (preferably) in the past, been hunting thought my old photos and dug some up.

Being an old git, i have a slight advantage, but i thought it would be an interesting topic, are there any old school bikers lurking on here?

Here are a few old pics of some of mine.

No! why are you missing yours:p

Yes !

Ive had a few bikes, but nothing large capacity although I have a full licence. The only photo I have I can post is my first, a KH250.

Words cannot describe the feeling I had when I picked this up, the most exciting moment of my young life. As you can tell from my expression.

A few years infront of me i think, 1982 i can remember going on a Z1000 my mate owned, i had a few years of riding around on all sorts of thing including Fizzes, monkey bikes :D

Another one was a Yam RD250

We had a scramble course very close to home so anything would do as long as it moved :D (before the 'Desert' was famous)

Then i got my first Capri and decided the comforts of a car we more my taste :eyebrows:

For fun what about Tri-Z 250, had to be very careful to keep lefts away from the tyre :D they could eat you.

It used to go like a crosser, very fast just difficult to manouver at slow speeds.

My kids used to love being towed (like water skiing) in a tyre behind the bike on airfields when we were off roading :innocent:

I suppose it could be though of as dangerous really

When I was 19 and on my third year of riding bikes (on the road, been on 2 wheels since I was 8), I bought an RG500, best, worst and scariest bike I ever owned. 100hp in a powerband as wide as a human hair, on early 80s tyres and suspension, it was a hoot! Taught me loads about riding bkies though.

I was looking at getting one again last year but theyre just stupid cash now :(

LOL! nice flairs;)

Does anyone remember the KH500cc triple, rubber frame and a 500RPM power band, you couldn't wear flairs on one of them;)

I remember it well, and the 750 too. Mach 1 or similar ?? I almost bought the 750 triple in '82 but was refused the finance. Considering the damage I did with the 250 it was probably a good thing. They were the sexiest bikes out there in the '70s IMO. My head was turned by the Yamaha RD350LC in the '80s, then I found Toyotas gave me a bigger buzz.

ok lets have a proper classic, a Vincent Black lightning 1955 edition

Nice but high maintenance, have you owned one?

Out of all the bikes I've owned, discounting Jap bikes, i would have to say my Bonnie lowrider was the nicest and most reliable, although the Sportster came a close second, took that to the south of France and back with no problems.

Ahh the one known as the widowmaker.

They are fetching silly money now.

Saw one at our local pub bike nights last year and the guy had joined an extra barrel on to make it a 4 cylinder 1000cc.

He'd made a real good job of it, looked factory.
