nickball75
Hey, should be going for a na tt conversion next year. Spoke to insurance company last night to get an idea of what insurance uplift would be. They told me there would be NO extra charge!! Im just not sure they put the car details in correct. what would my supra be classed as? Its an SZ NA jspec. If I put a TT in would it be classed as something else or just a SZ TT?? I think she quoted me for a RZ?
michael
Who are you insured with? It's not unheard of for extensive modifications to be covered free of charge but it's quite rare. What is your car insured as currently?
ellis
Very surprised to hear that as it would count as a major engine modification, increasing power a lot - they never do anything for free! Would recheck!

adnanshah247
double check that, i was quoted £450 i think more for a tt compared to an NA. in the end didnt bother with a NA bought a tt and after a year of ownership my premiums have dropped massively. jim_supra
I'm with Sky insurance and they just class my car as a standard TT.

If yours a TT conversion, yes we would have rated the policy on the RZ or GZ TT but made a note that it was originally an NA. danhicks22
All the quotes I had before getting my TT gave me the same price on a TT as NA so I'm guessing they've just put it down as a standard TT. Maybe your policy will change the car type but with the coincidence that the price is the same. I don't know if the fact that it's modified to get it to be a TT should mean it costs more than if it were a TT originally?

nickball75
Just spoke to adrian flux. The girl I spoke to yesterday had misquoted me. It will go up another £100 (not bad at all) to upgrade to turbo engine. But because I was misquoted, they said they would honour it!! so if I get the conversion, it wont cost me a thing in insure. steady_dave
When I originally got a quote for insurance a TT was only a few extra £££ more than an NA, I mean £15 or so. I'm going for this next year (NA-TT) and was wondering whether insurance companies would class it as a standard TT or as a serious modification. Interesting! SpeedyAndy
just a thought as this has been brought up, what does every think of adrain flux insurance has im after the new year getting my car insurance sorted as ill be due, and they have offered me a very good price well know one else can offer the same, Fully comp - break cover - 20yrs old - no garage just drive because me mother has had this mad idea of turning the garage in to some think else so lost my garage lol 1300pound. i no that's a lot to some people on there but because of my age and car i cant really moan as my first car was a escort 1.6si which i paid the same for that when i first past 4yrs ago lol Just wondering - as there's not a lot out there for the supra n/a for a 20yr old to insure, and if i have got quoted they have been OTT. Guest Budz86
When I got quote's from Flux it would have been the same if it was a TT or NA, only being a UK spec made a difference
SpeedyAndy
Please sorry, Is it possible to pay for insurance as monthly in UK? yes mate, you can monthly, but you have to pay a deposit though, depending on what your insurance quote is its normally 2/3 months as the deposit
