Auto gear box problem

ok you will have to treat me as a complete nube as i dont have a clue where to even start with this. Sorry to be a pain but once i got it straight in my head ill be able to sort this stuff out myself in the future. Have you ever heard of this problem before?

... also if it turned out to be on its way out what are my options with regards to an upgrade? is it overly expensive compared to replacing it with a standard box

If you read that link I posted in my reply it has a step by step guide on how to check them, I managed to check mine on my first supra and all I knew about cars back then was how to put air in tyres and fill it with petrol, it is really simple to check your error codes, have a good read of that link mate.

 

It is cheaper to buy a 2nd hand auto box circ £200-£300, or to go manual £3,000.
