dangerous brain
I hate to say it but diesel is the fuel of the future. Bio diesels are coming on in leaps and bounds. Easier to make than bio ethanol's. The power and uptake on modern diesels is actually very surprising. I've recently purchased a rover 220 sdi and its suposedly as quick as a 99 golf gti and it is returning well over 50 mpg.
Thorin
Think I'm going to have to get it remapped soon though. You haven't done it yet?? What's wrong with you man???
Paul Whiffin
You haven't done it yet?? What's wrong with you man??? I'm quite impressed with my ability to resist these days! I went for over a year without messing about with my R34 GTR, when I'm surrounded by tuning parts thats quite a feat!
far
Welcome to the club Im currently deciding between a 535d M sport auto (twin turbos!) and a CLS diesel (much slower but looks awesome) Test drove both before xmas the BMW is cheaper and faster by miles but the CLS turns me on http://www.bmw535d.com/specs.htm
Paul Whiffin
Had the car remapped today and all I can say is wow! I didn't get a before and after figure but its suppose to put the bhp up to about 250 and the around 420 lb/ft torque, the difference is amazing! Instead of the power dropping off at the mid to top end it now just keeps on getting stronger, money well spent. I'll see if the MPG gets any better once I've stopped hooning around it! Paul Whiffin
I was waiting for a K/N filter to arrive for weeks!
Paul Whiffin
Manage to get 50mpg out of it on a run on the motorway, thats about 5mpg improvement, not bad considering the performance it has.
