marbleapple
Not surprised, cause that has nothing to do with MUSLIM culture..... .... There are a lot of Muslims in Bradford/Leeds that would disagree with you. Perhaps you meant to say that it has nothing to do with your Culture in London... certainly has a lot to do with the Muslims where I live. You are spot on bud, it is more of a tradition thing between some groups of muslim. In my family we dont see things that way but there is a very large part of the community that still believe that. I must stress it has nothing to do with religion but is a belief/tradition which has been passed on from the older generation although the younger generation dont give 2 $.h..ites about it anymore. I am married and my wife is half white and british born and is not from pakistan or has any relations from there, her mother is white and father not a pakistani either and so on so you see people we are not all the same! Read up on actual facts and not what you see in the media and you will understand everything just fine.

n boost
Where do we find the facts? I undersatand it is not easy but one can only find true facts about any religion/faith by reading material which has not been modified or altered and is in english so you can try and understand a faith. Unfortunetly theses days alot of people tend to believe what suits them and not what is actually in the faith i.e sucide bombers who believe it is right killing innocent bystanders a bit like our gov'ts who call it collateral damage. n boost
I'm thinking that was his point And mine is that if you really want to know get yourselfs some reading material and you will shut up plenty of so called religious people from many faiths because you will be more educated then someone who is trying to justify his beliefs which he has learnt through others and not fron the scripture itself;)
bigbloodyturbo
sucide bombers who believe it is right killing innocent bystanders a bit like our gov'ts who call it collateral damage. Big bloody difference between collateral damage during war and actively trying to target civies in a peaceful environment just because they dont follow the same screwed up believes. Carl_S
I thought the sims wuz supposd to be entertaining, getting to know muslim culture on computer like that, if its entertaining then its good. i think a fantasy game more like wow, would be better where you can go down the mosque, and drive cars like supras, skylines, and subarus, and mod stuff on them and could be good. then get on the property ladder, and keep on renting out rooms and put a deposit down on the next house. looking for an asian bride from here or back home, or, sending your kids to a good school an encouraging them to study. I think the killing idea is a good one though, but it has to be done sensitively, perhaps, joining UK army to fight alongside harry in afghanistan. arranged marriages can be cool, the saying goes, marry now fall in love later. forced marriages must suck though, because it can be like organised rape. But its possible that there is a kind of forced marriage in white culture too, where you marry people like your mom just cos you dont know any better then regret it later when you realise,

n boost
Big bloody difference between collateral damage during war and actively trying to target civies in a peaceful environment just because they dont follow the same screwed up believes. I agree but to a sucide bomber they firmly believe that war has been started with the west etc, so they see it as collateral damage. In their extreme minds they are at war so killing bystanders is justified to them similiar to collateral damage for gov'ts like i mentioned earlier. I in no way support any killing of innocent people either if it is a sucide bombing or our gov't killing innocent people through war. Carl_S
I toyed with the idea of becoming a muslim, but two main things put me off. The communal washing and going to the loo before going into the mosque. And the fact that I could not be sure that God existed. Perhaps the game would had satisfied my curiousity about the religion and the culture, without having to actually go into the mosque, or pray five times a day. Do you know, I was going to become an astronaut, but I didn't think the suit was really me, and the serious lack of air was a real turn off too. Amir khan
Sounds like an excellent idea. Can I 'virtually' force my sisters into arranged marriages and bump them off if they refuse? 'Cos that's something I've never understood about muslim culture. I am a muslim and feel I should clear this up. This arranged marriage business of not letting daughters have a say in who they marry is purley an ASIAN culture and not islam. In islam a woman can not be forced into marriage and has a right into who she marries
