If you are good at DIY'ing this sort of thing it may make sense.

Ideally you need to look for a later facelift 6 speed NA, the gearboxes will mate up fine 5 or 6 speed (new clutch/flywheel required) but the 6 speed is much stronger.

£4k ish for a na 6 speed, you need the tt engine and full wiring loom + ecu and stock intercooler pipe work off the top of my head.

If you are going to pay someone to do it, then as others have said just buy a manual tt

no the reason why i cannot just buy a tt is i haven't got 7gs spare i have the opportunity to buy a n/a supra manual on a l reg for £2000 in very good con i can also buy a turbo engine fie 1,300 so it making sense to me to do it this way

yep i will be doing myself how much are flywheels these days?

if you are sticking the tt engine into the older manual NA then you can re-use the na's flywheel and just get an uprated clutch.

My mentioning the flywheel change was in respect of the 6 speed NA where its different and would need (i think) to be changed to allow the use of a stock TT clutch.

it cost me about £2500 for everything in the end. You can probably get it fitted at that price now with prices coming down on everything. Parts now would proably set you back around £1500-2000. Its a very rewarding job to do for the amount it costs, the power gains and the knowledge you gain on the car. Easiest option is to just buy a TT, but this is a fun project to do for very little cash.

£7000 will buy two tidy enough TT's. IMO it's madness not to buy a TT to begin with.
