tooquicktostop
I love these Gaz and test drove one a while ago, great value for money but they are expensive to maintain, but coming from single supra ownership that is nothing new ! I would have one in a flash, I think this marquee oozes class
The Raven
Twins and your right on the bhp. TONS of car for the money, would have no idea who to take them to when they brake. Considered 4 seaters but having never seen one i dont know if they are any better than the supras seats. 16mpg. 50k brand new?
GazB
My business partner has one, he swapped to a nearly new 07 plate (65k) from his 1st 04 plate (35k) after only having the 1st one 6 months. Couldn't get on with the gear stick change after he'd done the track day supplied when he brought the car using a paddle changer! Lots of power, sound great Depreciation not good on new car so 2nd hand one are bargin buys. He's broken down a couple of time, electrics and alarm i think. Serviced at Gray Paul's, expensive but depend on the mileage you intend doing. Insurance is covered by our fleet policy at £1600 a year full comp for any driver over 35. Had to have tracker fitted and working for theft cover. He's got 2 kids, there seats fit in the back ok, just a bit scary for them as he likes to drive fast even with them in the car He keeps saying he wants to run the 1/4 mile to see if it's a quick as my supra but so far he asn't
RiceRocket
Downsides? Just the likely frequent maintenance running costs, a mate of mine (Jamie P type, less of a driving nutter:d) had the Cambiocorsa and had to replace the clutch after a few months and the bill shocked him into selling it. I'd suggest you enquire about probable costs such as this for the 3200 gt then decide. Safer option would be 996 Carrera 2.

My wife's boss has a 3200GT and he almost had to take a second job at McDonalds to pay for his recent minor repair and service bill (circa £5k). I could never eat there again knowing that my wifes CEO was going to serve me my chicken deli meal:D

Swampy442
Might be worth researching for a Maserati specialist near you and check on running costs. Nice cars though
Multics
Class machine and make a Supra look well and truely a Chav's car. I am thinking of getting one Generalisations... A stock looking supra does not look chav next to a Maserati but it comes down to taste I guess.

GeordieSteve
I posted up not long ago about buying one of these. Seems everyone agrees they cost a fortune to run
Chris Wilson
Crank thrust bearings go, especially on manuals, and can easily cost far more than the car's worth fixing them. Maximum crank end float allowed is about 10 thou inch. Good advice is to have it checked. Best advice is don't buy one. Price up some bits like light units, body panels, radiator, air con rad, blah blah, and have a large drink to steady the old nerves. They rust, too, and early models had cooling problems with head gasket issues and other water leaks. Getrag manual boxes are good (very similar to MKIV TT manual box), but clutches wear fast and are costly to buy and fit. The auto boxes are pretty much bullet proof. They were bad enough new, an old one??? Brave pills time!

Pig
Test drive it, if you like it then keep it for 6 months and go from there. If its the wrong decision then sell it and move on
