supraturbochris
evening all, i have read previous threads on this, but they havnt really gone anywhere. My central locking doesnt want to lock, it only unlocks the car. I also have a toad a1600 alarm system fitted to the car. I had the door panel off today but didnt notice anything. Could anyone point me in the right direction or tell me how too fix? thank you
merckx
I fitted the Toad ai606 to mine. The connections from the alarm to the central locking on the car were done in the fuse box panel that's located in the drivers footwell. Does the car central locking open and close when you turn the key in the door lock? You just have a problem when you alarm the car with the toad fob and it doesn't lock the car? supraturbochris
The alarm fob arms its self but doesnt lock the doors. But when pushing the button to open the car, it opens ok. On the switch on the drivers door panel, it clicks down to open the doors alright but when clicking the up button to lock the doors it does nothing. It seem like there is no signal getting to the passenger door.
gordy07
So is it the passenger door thats not locking or both?
supraturbochris
both doors are not locking
d4rr3n
Bump! mine is doing exactly the same thing, i have a cobra alarm. Unlocking central locking works exactly as it should but locking wont work at all (fob, key, or the button on the door) any ideas?

d4rr3n
its still playing up please help It seems like nobody really knows, however i was told that its probably just a connections somewhere and cleaning them may help. I havent tried doing mine yet because of the weather but i think there is a box somewhere in the passenger footwell with connections in. If you get it sorted let me know and i will do the same. Cheers
Konrad
I just have seen this thread. It's connector in drivers door playing up, I had (and have it again ) same problem when it's getting really wet and cold. When you take off doors card it will be on the right side of drivers door, small white connector with 3 cables going in and out. Clean it, dry it and it should work fine again
Pete
I've got this too. Looks like it's dismantling time!

Pete
Hasn't helped me. I'll have to strip it down further when there's more light. Hate it dark so early.

Sometimes you need to fiddle a little with this bloody connector, but i'm positive it is cause of the problem, I did cure it on red Supra and once on white one
supraturbochris
hopefully that will work. I heard there was a little box under the passenger footwell that could be causing the problem. I thought it was my alarm.
supraturbochris
this is the problem, that little poxy white connector. Im working outside in the dark trying to sort it. i have dryed it and put contact grease in it and its still playing up
gordy07
I just leave the connector unplugged it was doing the same with me. It just means the CL doesnt work with the key and the green light at the barrel surround doesnt work, but the doors now lock/unlock with the alarm fine
supraturbochris
how bout chopping off the connector and making up parts of wire to fill its place? surely that would be a better connection?
gordy07
Or you could straight through crimp them

d4rr3n
Just got round to taking the door apart and gave the white connector thing a clean and all is working well. Spot on guys with the advice.
supraGZaerotop
funny thing, mine has just started acting a bit odd. few days ago. what mine is doing is after the car has been parked up over night i go to get in by unlocking the door via my alarm fob, and it wont unlock the doors, disarms the alarm and immobilizer but wont unlock the doors!! central locking works fine with my key, both doors, so i think ive got a crappy connector somewhere. but once ive unlocked the doors with my key the fob works fine locking and unlocking my doors. only odd thing off the top of my head is that ive got fitted a camera detector, bel something or other, anyway this bel lately has been bringing up a low volt message on the display!! but the cars starts perfectly and seems plenty power in the battery, is it possible that the alarm wont trip the doors to unlock if it senses low voltage from the cars battery? supraGZaerotop
also this morning on the way to work it suddenly locked the doors by its self, and it kept trying to lock the doors even tho they were locked, could just hear the relay clicking over in the passenger side foot well. after reading about the various things that go wrong, ie- those clips in the doors and having a look in the drivers footwell behind the black cover ive blasted the clips in both doors,(can get to them from above with the windows down,wd40 and straw). also there was a drop or two of rain water on the connectors of some relay thing down under the drivers footwell!!(no corrosion what so ever down there on any of the connections so thats good),i gave that a little blast with WD40. all this weather and older cars dont mix so it seems. mines an aero if that makes any difference, the door/roof seals must let a very small amount of water in some where that finds its way down to the drivers side foot well!! just so happens theres electrics down there, so not good. ive just had a good go at everything with wd40, so with any luck. what do you lot recommend grease wise to put on the roof and doors seals to help seal from any rain getting in.
