Is this their "second life" clone?

Another excuse to charge silly people £1 for a virtual pot plant?

The sad thing is you know ppl will buy it  So they'll keep doing it.

Its the same with all the NFS Undercover shite on the PS Store. That lot was released before the game was even out. . .

I see the icon for this has appeared for everyone now, shame all it does is take an age to install, steals 3GB of space and then throws up an error C-931.

Nice work Sony.

Yeah I got that error too today and gave up on it. PSN is shite in general IMO - sign up bombed out repeatedly when I got my blu-ray player (PS3, Xbox 360 for gaming) the other day and once I finally got signed up PSN continued to randomly disconnect me. I'm glad Xbox Live costs money as it seems to ensure a decent service!!! A far superior online experience to PSN IMO.

And OMG the endless software updates with PS3... it was a case of plug it in and leave it for 10hrs the other day, checking every now and again to install the odd update and let it carry on to the next one. I bought / downloaded PAIN from the store which was 200mb and then when I tried to play it I was presented with a 352mb game update - I mean come on ffs, an update nearly twice as large as the game itself?!?

The main fan on the PS3 is bloody deafening when it comes on too... reminds me of my overclocking days running FOP38's and the like!

/PS3 rant.

Ebay it, get another one. I only use my PS3 nowadays and have retired the 360, due to it being whisper quiet (quieter even than my DVD player).

I had a little go on Home earlier today, not at all impressed. You're really not missing out on anything at all..

the reason your gettin the code is because the network is overloaded, basically they did a worldwide release at the same time, a good idea in theory but in practice you get millions of people tryin to connect to the same network at the same time and as such the bandwidth cannot cope, as things are. Bear in mind there are just over 14 million playstations registered and being used online Sony estimate. TBH they would have been a lot better doing a phased launch of the Home service to enable the servers to cope with the bandwidth demand, or alternativly the should have tripled the capability of the network to compensate for the sudden increase in demand which they are stating is around 300% of the normal usage on the playstation network at present.

The good news is this will get resolved and home is still in beta dont forget, its just an "open" beta now. give it time, this will be awesome the posibilities are endless.

Ps, if your running low on disk space cos of home taking up 3gb etc, why not look into purchasing a laptop hard disk and installing it. you can do this without invalidating any warrentys etc and all the software to transfer and back everything up is already installed on your ps3! there are guides on the internet on how to do this and i also hear that pc world offer a sevice to do this if your unsure. My advice, get a 320GB 2&1/2" 7200rpm laptop hard drive, then install Linux on it too while your at it, might as well have a killer media centre / 2.8Ghz PC while your at it! ;)

Free online, Bluray, Upgradable parts, Linux, WiFi, Bluetooth, PS home, Backwards compatability, Memory card reader, HD output, multi region gaming, and media networking.. all this straight out of the box.. If you spend the time to set your PS3 up correctly it really is a killer system!

Can't say that I've noticed "endless updates", the system updates are rare, and apart from Pain (which there seems to be an update for at least every month), game updates are even less frequent.

I've also never had a problem with signing up to the PSN and I've not experienced random disconnects either.

I'd also hardly say the fan is deafening either, my freeview box is louder.

I've been logged into home for a few weeks.. but its not really up to much right now, you can create your person etc, wander around a few places and speak to others, its all very weird.

And yes, so far a lot of what I see is selling virtual crap, like furniture, houses, clothes etc for your online chap.

On the plus side, you can win things by doing well at the online games built into the Home, you can play others at pool and chess etc, thats kinda fun.

I dont think its the sorta thing I'll be using a lot though!
