Guest sunnyG83
Hi everyone, its time that i buy myself a little run-about as i am putting the Supra away for the winter. Looking to spend a maximum of £2k and something economical. i have been looking at the EK-Civic 1.4ltr as i thought this would be reliable, but any other suggestions would be appreciated. tooquicktostop
My GF just brought a 02 plate Astra 1.6 Auto, for 2K, low miles, very nice to drive, nice spec and fuel economy is so good against the Supra that I thought the gauge was stuck !! Well with my budget i am not holding out for anything to exotic but something semi-cool would be nice.

mustang
You would get a decent mk4 golf for that I would imagine, I'm trying to sell my '98 gt tdi at the moment and have been told that to sell it I'm looking at a similar figure. Mine comfortably does 60mpg and has been fantastic for the 2yrs I've had it.
marc_p
I recently got a 1.6 EK Civic coupe and it's a good runaround for work and means I don't have to use the Supra when the salt is out.

newbiematt
...Golf Mk3 1.8 Driver - I had one and never had issues and seemed fine bodywork wise too. I had the 1.8 GL Mk3 Terrible car imo. Bodywork was terrible (rust spots appeared all-over and the paint job (red) by VW was hopeless. I didn't really experience VW's renowned reliability with this car either. Handling is absolutely hopeless too, almost dangerous! Just my 2p

Guest sunnyG83
How can you not drive an auto?? I can understand the other way round I agree with you totally its just that she refuses to drive one. I think it might have something to do with my dad, he rented a 5 series Auto and when they were driving down south he accidently hit the brakes at a service station as he must have forgotten that the car had no clutch.
