Swampy442
Wonder if anyone can help. Ive been looking into a way of replacing the coil packs and found a wasted spark system. Now what I want to know is, the wasted spark set up produces a really big healthy crack of a spark, noticably more powerful than stock coils. Will this cause any long term problems with things like spark errosion etc? Thanks in advance
Chris Wilson
Not sure what you are trying to do here, can you run that past me again, but slowly?
Swampy442
Basically trying to find a cheaper alternative to coil packs Will a stronger spark cause any long term engine issues?
Chris Wilson
You need individual coils if it's not a VVTi as the earlier ones are all sequential firing. There's a load of different coils to use, Mercury outboard coils are well regarded, but not a direct fit. You could only fit wasted spark coil packs to the VVti, as far as I know.
