Homer
Unfortunately Sky can't do these so for the first time in a few years I'm looking for an alternative. I have two cars to insure, with me being the only driver and very few miles per year: - 98 Mondeo 2.5 (worth £800) - 94 Supra NA 5spd aero (worth £1000) So far I've had no luck at all getting a multi-car policy, all companies have said I need two separate policies taken out. Sky have been the best so far on both counts on the individual quotes. £315 for the mondeo and £360 on the Supra, but that’s still a lot of cash considering I can only drive one car at a time and combined they'd only see 2-3000 miles a year. Are there any recommendations from people in the same situation?
johnny g
I'm interested in this Homer, I've got 3 cars to insure - 2005 535d (Workhorse) - 1998 Supra VVTi TT6 (Weekend car) - 1995 MR2 V6 Turbo (Showcar mainly) Look forward to hearing what you get! I'm on 3 seperate policies with APlan for moment.

mr lover
they gave me my full no claims on the supe and 50% discount on the peugeot
Homer
Is that a multi-car policy Gary, or two seperate ones? I can't understand why the quotes I'm getting are so expensive, the cars are worth almost nothing (never worth bothering with a claim) and there's no chance of them being nicked. Homer
Well, apparently Admiral don't insure SZ's made between 93 and
marc_p
Well, apparently Admiral don't insure SZ's made between 93 and 99 Mines insured with them:blink: try them again. Anyway i'm on the Admiral Multicar Policy now. The insurance was £2100 fc for the Supra but when I added the civic and changed it to a multi car policy it was £1500 fc all in:d Civics which means I saved £600 by adding a car:blink: don't ask me how it works it just works! Homer
Cheers Marc, but I've given up on this multi car policy idea, no one can get anywhere near Sky, even though thats two seperate policies. Best quote on from the multicar policies so far is £420 for the Mondeo and £1008 for the Supra Think I'll be with Sky for a 3rd year! Pete
Well, apparently Admiral don't insure SZ's made between 93 and 99 Comes up as 94 FI (Foreign Import) on their system.
Homer
Comes up as 94 FI (Foreign Import) on their system. Thanks Pete That might well explain it. The guy on the phone actually refused to list the options available on his screen, then after I tried to explain there were SZ's made from 93 onwards he routed me to an automated message explaining how they will report all suspected fraudulent enquiries That’s one company I won't be talking to again! Admiral = bunch of know-nothings
Rosslomas
Here here to that, I was with admiral for my last 3 cars, all decent prices. I goot a good quote on the supra on the net, bought it, then they refused to insure me on it! created loads of hassel switching with overlapping insurances! flukey-lukey
I just did the admiral online multicar quote for the supra and my other car (mondeo) They refuse to insure me on the supra. I'm 23, 5 years no claims and I've had the car 3 years. Apparently it has too many modifications. Also make sure you guys who do have insurance are aware that if they do have to pay out for repairs they will replace your modifications with standard parts admiral = useless

Sounds good for your needs, but not for mine. Currently have both cars insured with sky for less than £1k. Do you still build up NCB on trader policies? Actually I'm telling lies, it cost me nearer to £1200
Stuliet
I have a multi-bike policy with EBike which builds NCB - they also do a multi-car policy; http://www.ecarinsurance.co.uk/ My bikes are heavily modified which did not cause any problems, but I have not checked for modded cars or maximum value limits, etc
