Silicone Brake Fluid

I looked into silicone fluid a while back . The US army use it `cos it's maintenance free , ie. it's not susceptible to water . I've got a litre of the stuff at work (I'm back at work on monday fortnight if you want it - let me know) but decided in the end not to use it .... too many conflicting reports about spongy pedal feel etc. etc.

It's recommended for low mileage classics that spend 10 months of the year garaged . I can't recommend 5.1 fluid enough - my old corolla used to loose pedal feel after just a couple of laps (imagine trying to reverse park & felling nervous about whether you'll stop b4 hitting a wall!) .... changed over to 5.1 & some s/s braided hoses & I had a good stiff PEDAL all day!

...also , one of the main selling points for silicone fluid is that it's not harmful to paint - I'd take my chances & not spill any5.1 over the bonnet ;)
