bennyc45
I used to have a 98' r reg tt but an auto and absolutely loved the car. A year on and a fair few cars later i found my self wanting another, but this time a manual . I searched high and low for the right one for me (more importantly within my budget) and did not exactly come up trumps. I decided the thing to do was to but the right car on paper, ie service history, mileage etc and then go for a respray in the righ colour. Approx 2 months ago i began my project by buying a 94' tt 6 speed in red with 65k on the clock from the forum which had a slight bit of damage on the front driviers side headlight area. I was not bothered by scratches as it was getting painted anyway and essentially the damage was cosmetic. I have absolutely loads of photos of before, during and after and im going to post a fair few up. I have gone from pretty much a stock tt 6 speed (body and performance bar a de-cat) in red to a Maserati Black tt 6speed with a do-luck front, veilside sides, trial rear, TRD spoiler, 19" deep dish wheels, super-dragger exhaust, fmic, Apexi induction kit and uk spec Glass Headlights. It is by no means a finished car with the interior etc to do but i am happy with it so far. Keen to know peoples thoughts. Thank you for reading and appologies for the essay! pics to follow: Edited November 26, 2008 by bennyc45 (see edit history)

bennyc45
The next step was to sand back all the red paint on every pannel, inside the door shuts and in and around the door and trims. http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/1937/5e8f5619368961.gif http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/1937/8603bb19368955.gif http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/1937/430b1819368935.gif Door had a couple slight dents in so was blocked and filled then sanded back: http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/1937/a093b919368926.gif Slight dents on wing as well, filled then sanded back:

bennyc45
I bought a do luck front, trial rear and veilside sideskirts from REPLIKIT which were very reasonable. I initially had alot of trouble with the kit and fitting it but they very kindly came over and bitted, bent and shaved bits to make it fit for me. Couple pics of the kit and offering them up. bennyc45
I wanted a black car but had no idea how complicated choosing a colour was so hard. My body shop had a choice of around 500 different blacks! I ended up choosing an absolutely stunning maserati black which has a very shiney silver shimmer in the sun and is very glossy. http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/1938/b66c3519371767.gif http://thumbnails13.imagebam.com/1938/43abd219371774.gif

I think they really compliment the rest of the car but i understand each and every one of us have a different oppinion and im sure my car will not be for a lot of ppl but im extremely happy with it. It has been alot of work and have had many headache's and i did not reach my target of completing in 4-6 weeks but instead took 8 which is not the end of the world. I would very much appreciate hearing what you think Thank you

hoff
I must say that is a lovely looking supra:cool: You must be very happy:) The only thing I would suggest, and it's only minor but will make a big differance and finish it off nice, is get some clear side repeators:) I got mine of Nic (import pimp on here) and Im sure the others can help you out too:)
bennyc45
Cheers guys. I actually have the clear side repeaters already but have not put them on yet. I also have a toyota celica number plate surround for the front which will make the plate look smart and in place properly. Im not generally a big kit fan but after weeks of planning it ended up heading that direction and this is the result. Looing forward to a couple supe meets or maybe japfest in may
