Fearless
Thank you every one for all the words of condolence, still feel gutted but is nice to know others are sharing my pain. I'd echo the comments of some of the others, this needs to go to a real specialist, not just any old bodyshop, make sure they don't fob you off. I will look into this tomorrow, thanks Does any one know how I will stand if his insurance (Tesco) say the repairs cost more than the car is worth? (what is the book value for a 1996 TT) but my insurance (Sky) has an agreed value of £20,000 for the car. I really don't want it writen off

heartworm
Things seem to be moving quickly at least from the insurance company. Keep on top of them to make sure they are doing it properly.

Steve please listen to the advise you have been given, do not send it to anyone but a specialist who have dealt with the kind of bodywork you have. Michaels link is more the type of company you want to go with. Give the garage that your insurance has approved a call, and then phone Michaels link, I'm sure the conversations will be very different From knowing Jon (Pig) a long time what he doesn't know about these things isn't worth knowing in my opinion, he is trying to help you and I advise you to take seriously any advice he has given you. Good luck Steve.

jazz1
well i disputed with the insurance company when my car got hit, they finally agreed to let my dad fix it back up, so if they dont agree dont tell them where you got the kit from say you bought it like that:)
Gazboy
His insurer can't write your car off AFAIK. They can if the chassis is bent or major damage to structural items.

Good luck Steve. Thanks I have listened I have told the insurance that I will not be using their garage. I did contact the TVR place and they asked me to send some photos of the car and damage by email before they would commit themselves to it. I have not heard back from them yet and being an impatient bugger I have given the job to Jon's (Pig) place http://www.hiltonaccidentrepair.co.uk They look like they know what they are doing. I was looking at headlamp conversions at a place in your area today as it happens - they might be worth a look? http://www.lotusbodyshop.co.uk With them being a TVR and Lotus specialist they should be ahead of the game when it comes to kits and things. I can also reccomend these guys, they have repaired damage on a couple of our company vehicles and on my daily driver SAAB, class act and good price.
