Tannhauser
I wouldn't take the results too seriously. Quite often you get this: Person's self-perception, pre-test: busy, sometimes ratty with others, but basically coping just fine Same person's self-perception, post-test: highly stressed, close to death, in need of counselling There has been a lot of criticism of stress testing as being part of a 'stress industry', which has a vested interest in producing diagnoses of 'highly stressed'. I'm not saying that stress doesn't cause any problems, but there is an increasing trend in pathologising everyday experience - turning all sorts of life-experiences into labelled 'conditions' that need some sort of action to remedy them. Mike
It annoys me... a lot of people I work with seem to use stress as some kind of yard stick to how important they think they are. Some people actually 'make' stress... why would you?!

marbleapple
It annoys me... a lot of people I work with seem to use stress as some kind of yard stick to how important they think they are. Some people actually 'make' stress... why would you?! Stress makes me more effective at my job. I'm tired, inwork long hours and have too much work to do. Stress is an incredible stimulator. I agree others use it as an excuse which is pathetic. I would also drawn a big gap between medical stress (which requires medication and support) and every day stress. I've had both and medical stress isn't nice.
