jim
I think the maximum you're allowed is 5 litres in a sealed jerry can/container on the boat (it's a fire hazard)
tony tt
millers is a good octane booster i used that myself when i was there i would still keep to 0.9bar though. above that is a gamble.
Chiefgroover
Would also depend a lot on how your car is mapped.

tony tt
its ok if your driving sensibly (boring) but it certainly limits the fun factor. the biggest thing the cops drive there is a mondeo so theres no worry about gettin chased down personally i would avoid it but thats because of my own experience driving there it cost me the price of an engine and labour. a weekend trip should be ok i was there 6 years and had my supra there for 2 years even using the octane boost at 1bar wrecked my engine. rather than sell the car i moved back to the uk! Chiefgroover
what fuel do you normally run? 109? I can run 1.4 bar on BP ultimate no det. stock unleaded with two bottles of millers CVL and I can still run 1.4. Whats the problem lol. Chiefgroover
forgot to mention on buy shell esso etc as you cant g/tee quality of other petrol.
tony tt
i run 99 now. 95ron with octane boost killed my engine. your sup is obviously running more performance upgrades than mine if your running 1.4bar ive only stock turbos. my turbos blew up and i wrecked a cylinder. bp ultimate is 97 i believe and a lot better fuel than 95 which is all they sell in the republic of ireland. tony tt
decent fuel is available in the north i agree only 95 is available in the south.

Chiefgroover
ah ha, the answer, take the boat to Belfast, to via Enniskillen (thats my route to Galway) and fill there with BP ultimate before crossing the border and same on way back. Great twisting road, resurfaced in 2005 from the border down to Sligo, Sligo is a shit hole to drive though, pot holes trucks dissapear into, then the lovely and well surfaced N17 you can have a few flat out runs on when its quiet late on. I had a very memorable drive there in May 05, one of the most enjoyable ever in the silver car, look forward to it again
Chiefgroover
Also......a little know fact.......ALL super unleaded in the North is BP ultimate, as only BP have a storage tank for it at Belfast docks so everyone draws from it. tony tt
thats a long hall from england mate does a ferry run from hollyhead to belfast? if it doesnt then its a drive to scotland first and the boat from stranraer to belfast and down to galway thats a days drive in itself. Chiefgroover
You can have Liverpool to Belfast (Stenna I think) also for a cheapie you could risk the Heysham to Warrenpoint freight boat at night, one sank recently, but I think the other still chuggs along lol. Chiefgroover
Actually its Norfolk line. Liverpool is much closer for you. I'll meet you can we can "sprint" our way down lol. Otherwise, If you fill near Hollyhead, you'll get to Galway on a tank. I must check who sells high Octane in Galway, plenty of rally men there, so everyone could get a few litres of high octane fuel to top up the pump 95 for the return run etc. I know the Millers rep very well, could get a big discount for a few cases if your interested.
