Chris Wilson
http://www.racecarsdirect.com/listing/21253/V8_STAR.html These things are seriously quick, especially somewhere like the `Ring where you can open them up a bit. Towards the end of this video the similar car (but Jaguar "shaped") is quite nauseatingly quick down the straights, and must have opened a few dawdlers eyes http://videos.streetfire.net/video/V8Star-Jaguar-Qualifying_182542.htm
jevansio
Love the way things like Escort Cosworths respectfully pull out the way as it comes tearing up behind them

Gazboy
Good Lord that is hugely fast. The difference between a fast road car and a race car like this is staggering. It looked very twitchy and difficult.
Chris Wilson
Lot's of big V8 torque, a relatively very light car, and downforce only aplenty at high speeds = short shifting and a delicate touch on the throttle. Those V8 Star cars are serious

Homer
Incredible to watch that thing, the cornering speeds and brake power are out of this world! Is that using an LS1 engine? Are they a high reving race spec, or just a high tune road version?
SUPRALOOPY
Wow !!!
Chris Wilson
If you like the V8 Star cars this link is a bit more lively, there's always some *&%$er faster than you He has to pul his finger out at the end! Speed differentials are frightening. But to put it in perspective it wouldn't see where a decent F3 car went in the twisties, and even an old F3000 would make it look as if it were broken. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7216733532401886377
Gazboy
That Opel Corsa wasn't exactly slow out of the mini-karrosel in the first video was it!

Gazboy
I do find it VERY interesting that with the amount of AEM vs HKS vs the new big thing arguments on this and other forums, a lot of race cars use a Motec. How much is a Hollinger 6 speed sequential box btw?
